Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Who do you most enjoy making things for: family, friends, yourself, a special someone?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I started working on the baby books again, since they are due in late April, and all I have so far are the covers. I cut out 18 identical pieces of cardstock to make the twice four double page bases and made the base of the two gate cards that will go to the inside of the front covers. I'm planning to glue together the double pages so that they'll make a pocket tomorrow... at least some of them. We'll see. I'll have to cook for two days tomorrow, so I might not get done much.

I'll try to do my best, but cooking always takes longer than one expects.

Ah, getting all set up!

Yes - tedious but necessary.

Well done! Hope your glueing goes well.

I know the feeling. *commiserates*

But you've already made considerable progress, so it's good.

Hopefully you won't end up with an extra long sleeve or anything!

Great progress! Hope you were able to watch the game.

Swamped with chores recently, but I finished up potting indoor plants, got my parts of the current house projects done, and today I've finished a round on my doily. It had been languishing for days. May do another round while the light is still good.

I finished a second row, just in time for dinner.

Cross your fingers for continued bathroom renovation.

That's a lot you got done! Some languishing is justified. :)

And I'm always slower in the winter. The spring bulbs are putting up greenery though, so hopefully not much more of that!

You have been busy!

I was hoping to get some more work on the scarf done during the superbowl, but my autoimmune issues have flared up with the heat a bit, so I'm not sure if I'll manage.

Thank you :)

Aww, I'm sorry.

We ended up having company drop in so I didn't pay much attention to most of the game, but from what I saw at least the niners gave a really good game :).

Turns out I do have intermittent internet access, but between the dog's schedule and the chickens, I haven't had much time or energy to work on anything. I have tried to write, but it didn't go anywhere.

One thing I was able to do was help my mother finish the egg crate dragon. I collected the pieces she had done. She had painted things enough to be useable and had about half the parts cut out, but nothing trimmed and I spent a few hours after the dog had been put to bed cutting out egg crate cups, trimming them all to size, making spacers out of straws, and stringing the body together. Then I cut out the parts for the head. I brought it to her the next morning and she made and attached the tail and decorated and attached the head. She was touching up little details on it last I was over there on a supply run.

I hope there will be a picture when it's finished. Such a great idea!

I thought it was done, but my mother is very insistent that the eyes need to be changed, lol.

Yes, the dog has a bedtime. She must be invited to her bed and tucked in. You must wish her a good night and make everything very dark and quiet. It was an experience.

Yeah, most dogs I have petsat have been treated like the owner's child to an extent, especially ones owned by relatively well off retired people, especially if it was their first pet, but this was defiantly the most extreme example I have come across.

It was a bit much, but the dog seemed happy, healthy, and well behaved, not to mention younger than her years, so it must be working for them :)

I'm just glad she was slightly less fussy about the chickens, slightly ;)

They definitely are!

Lol, I can picture it.

I've made a decent start on this scrap blanket.

You can see it here.
