Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Looking back at last year, which of your completed projects (or WiPs) were you most pleased with?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

... to the songbook. I've just realized I haven't taken photos of the other six. I'll do so later, but I thought I'd share the pretties.

The cow, kneading the dough:

And the bear, waiting for the loaf to bake through:

When the other photos are taken I'll make a post to my journal, in which I'll display the three versions next to each other: the original, my first version and my second one.

My favourite - of the whole book - is the cow. She looks so happy!

These are the CUTEST things! You certainly have a talent for making them. They really are just wonderful!

I've been quite unwell and had a lot of time with domestic things and just my phone which wasn't letting me log in. I've fixed it now, so can catch up with you all at lunch at work now! It's nice to be back with this group. I missed everyone over Xmas.

Nothing done - I spent last night prepping for a job interview and today I'm too tired to manage it so I've caught up on some emails and finished the book I've been trying to finish for a while.

Rest is important and forcing crafting tends to suck the joy out of it.
Thursday, February 1st, 2024 02:37 pm (UTC)
Down time is important. :)
I hope the interview went well.

Good luck with the job interview! And taking a break is important, too.

I did it! I finished the last three challenges for the Snowflake! Second time ever doing them all and first time I got them done in January. (The first time I got them all done was last year and it took me until December 29th.) I am celebrating with a couple of episodes of season 3 of Downtown Abbey. It finally came in at the library.

It was a nice cap to an otherwise unpleasant and stressful day.

I am getting a little concerned that my internal dialogue now seems to be narrated by Mrs. Hughes.

As always the sewing and crafting never stops. This last fortnight I've been off work and very unwell with a bug so I've only done a little bit. Pinning of one thing, machine sewing a silk dress, a bunch of photo editing for the website which is, totally unnecessary but a lot of fun. I've been photoshopping my outfits into medieval backgrounds for my online inventory and sewing galleries for fun. I did finish my red surcote, and photos to post up of that soon too!

I find it keeps me motivated to post up and it's frustrating when I get so behind.

Jesus, but you've been busy! Get better, soon!

Back at work today but there are mumblings from coworkers that perhaps a few more days is what I need. I'm feeling a lot better, so that's great.
