Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Looking back at last year, which of your completed projects (or WiPs) were you most pleased with?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Well done - you're racing through with this.

They're kinda carnation-ish roses I think. I'll post some pics later.

Oh, that must be lovely!

Decided I needed to start at least part of my "craft spring cleaning." I have so much mending piled up I had to move it to get to something else. So I did the two bulkiest but easiest - torn pockets on a couple jackets.

I have also settled on a doily to make for an upcoming wedding gift (it's in March). Pattern is called Starlight and I have pearl gray thread. Going to see if I can knock out a few rounds, as the center rounds are small and go quickly.

You have my deepest respect! My mending is piled up, too, but so far I've managed to look into another direction each time I accidentally spot the pile.

If I did not have the habit of craft spring cleaning, it would be harder. The sewing related stuff is the most neglected and therefore has to be this spring's topic.

Well done on making progress on a craft spring cleaning - I'm trying to challenge myself to finish started projects before moving on to anything new.

No crafting done today. We had our bi-weekly cleaning frenzy, and that's enough to wear out an oliphaunt.
I did some YouTube research, though, for baby books, and made drawings for the next page, so the day wasn't entirely wasted.

Planning definitely counts. Monday is usually house project day, but today's task doesn't need my help. It's also in a very small area so better that he's working alone.

That must be a relief!
Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 06:55 pm (UTC)
I'll try, thanks.

Planning is every bit as important before starting something new and to my mind still counts in its own way.
Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 06:56 pm (UTC)
Oh, I very much agree!

I got the heel done on my second Christmas stocking. I also made some headway on a cowl.

Well done!

I made a bit more progress on the tapestry - but actually fell asleep mid-stitch. I had done a reasonable amount before that happened though so it's all okay.

With me it's the crossword puzzles that have the "let's fall asleep" effect. *g*
