Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Looking back at last year, which of your completed projects (or WiPs) were you most pleased with?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I have no idea what ribbing is, but wish you steady progress in front of the telly. :)

I'm glad you have a TV companion!

That sounds great. I need to pick up a project and a show that are compatible (the one I'm watching now has a deaf character and I need to pay attention to the subtitles or I miss half the conversation).

Well done - hope DoI was good (I couldn't get yesterday's episode but caught up on last week's which I'd missed)

Excellent!

I worked a bit on the inside cover of the girl-book. Only one more tag is needed, but I simply didn't feel like doing more. And in my current state of mind I stop crafting in the moment when it ceases to be fun.

That is a GREAT state of mind.

Well done on your progress and it's right to stop when you've had enough and are no longer enjoying it.

I finished frogging my second attempt at my smaller impulse project and figured out how I'm going to do it. Probably. I need to get something right, it's got a lot of needle holes in it right now!

In lieu of that, I also did some guinea pig fur. Loop after loop after loop...
Sunday, January 21st, 2024 07:22 pm (UTC)
Good luck! Also: yay for more guinea pigs!

Good luck and good guinea pigging!

Hopefully things will go well on your next attempt. Well done on guinea pig progress.

Good luck!

Tried a second idea of the crochet duster and it worked out way better. The other is still usable, might be better to knock down cobwebs from corners where this one worked fine on the top and sides of the dresser.

What a neat idea!

Great idea - looks perfect for the job.

My heating packed in on Friday evening so rather than relaxing, I spent a good chunk of the weekend, trying to clean and tidy spaces that may have to be visited for repairs. Having said that I did take a break and work for a bit on the tapestry - I'd like to try and be consistent enough to finish it by the end of next month.

That sucks. I hope you've been able to stay warm enough as well in the meantime.

Glad you were able to find some time to work on the tapestry.

Despite yesterday's massive knitting session, I did do a little more today, knot sure how many rows, but it was only for under an hour. My shoulder was unsurprisingly not really into it today.

I decorated the next bullet journal layout, which was just washi tape over the date banner again.

I was able to finally get out and do a little supply shopping. I found wire binder clips (they are thinner than regular ones so you can use them in a journal and still close the book without much of a bulge), longer index tabs, and a thick notebook (for plotting), but the machine I buy the tiny mushroom erasers out of to make charms was broken.

I’ve finished the shirt for the outfit I’ve been working on! I just need to soak it in cold water once it’s dry and then wash it (I decorated it with bleach art) <3
