Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No knitting yet today, but yesterday I managed 30 rows!


This morning I pinned another pair of arm warmers ready for sewing up.

That is progress, too. You can't break your own record every day!

Not trying to break records, just make a nice sweater.

Only 10 rows tonight though. I was nearing the end of the first ball and the yarn kept getting tangled so I had to keep stopping and unravelling it. Then I played yarn chicken on my last row and lost, ran out of yarn with three stitches left, so I started undoing that row and dropped some stitches on the previous row, which meant undoing two rows plus part of a third, then re-knitting them all and starting a new ball for the last row. *sigh* Some days things just keep going wrong.

I have peaked in a couple times, you have been getting a lot done.

The back is coming along well, still needs another 5 or 6 inches though. And a better knitting day than I had today, what with having to undo a row when I ran out of yarn, then dropping stitches on the row below and having to undo that as well.

I've finished the front cover today and I must say that I'm quite satisfied with the outcome. See for yourself:



For this one (and its boy counterpart) I actually have a thematized paper collection each, from Lizzy designs; never heard of it before but snatched the paper pads as soon as I saw them. After a closer look I almost regretted having done so: they are very pretty but, in my not so humble opinion, not exactly baby book material. Still, I'm going to use them; they weren't cheap, after all, and when mixed with other stuff from my stock they'll look lovely, I think.

It is frustrating when material isn't as you thought, but that is working well.

Been very cold here. Today I tried to catch up some housework and I started a washable Swiffer duster thingy. I'm looking at two patterns and smashing their ideas together, will see how it works!

It's not quite as bad today and should be less cold in a couple more days. When it's this cold I just want to huddle in blankets.

I don't blame you. It's nowhere near as cold here, but blankets are still tempting. I hope you have some good ones to huddle under.

I've been working on the hat for my partner's brother as a late birthday gift. I'm in the main part of the hat but I'm making good progress. I have one more thin stripe to do & then I'm doing a bit more of the main color before the decreases.

I'm hoping to get it in the mail before the end of the month. But I'm enjoying the process.

Sounds like it's coming along well! What colours are you using? (I'm always interested in colours, lol!)

The main color is a maroon and the stripes are white. It's supposed to look kind of like a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing.
