Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another arm warmer sewn up, and the next three pinned and ready (the last one for my neighbour and the first of my two pink pairs).

Good job! I guess sewing up arm warmers is like binding quiet books: the final, least interesting and most finicky part.

Sewing up anything knitted is boring and tedious, which is why I still haven't finished a sweater from over a year ago. At least arm warmers are small and don't take long, provided there's decent light to work by.

Especially good to get done with the ones that are for the neighbor.

Yes, I want to deliver them asap. The mother already has 3 pairs but the daughter doesn't have any yet.

It's quite a nice shade, light, but not too pale. I wanted to use up some coned double knitting I'd bought many years ago. I'd already made a cardigan out of it some twenty-five years ago, so now I'll have arm warmers to go with it =)

A lot of my arm warmers have been made with leftover yarn from various sweaters. I can choose to match or go for a contrast =D

I made little progress today. But I have finished stitching together the windmill page and the one with the fox, so half the songbook is done, which is good.

It all helps bring the project closer to completion!

True. I still have a lot of detail work on the remaining four pages, but I'm beginning to hope that it will be finished in the not too distant future.

I did 30 minutes on the Christmas stocking today, and sent my first update to my patron, who was pleased. Yay!

Now I'm taking a short break, then I will settle down and work on nephew's blanket.

(health stuff: well, we don't have answers but the test showed nothing wrong, so my worst fears were allayed, which is good! so I feel I can focus on stuff again)

The weather is lousy. I'm seeing more birds of course, coming in for snacks.

There are always more birds when the weather is cold. The poor things would struggle to find enough food if it weren't for kind humans.

I saw 4 mourning doves earlier. They're hanging out on the south side of the house by the planters, out of the wind.

Can't say I blame them. I had 4 collared doves yesterday! Usually there are only 2.

Happy New Year everyone! Once again trying to catch up, but hope you all had a good festive season. (I'll read all your journals later tonight and I'm attempting to catch up with text on my own posts now.)

Craft resolutions... hm. Try to keep up to date with craft postings because you really do all cheer me on and it keeps me motivated! I've got a few things on the go but have been distracted with a sick kitty who is better now.

Always busy and never enough hours in the day. I've dropped back a day a week from my day job to allow more actual book writing time, so I hope to be getting more done on that this year.

I'm almost done the front and back of the sweater I'm making. However, I might frog the back halfway and do some increases, since I started making increases on the fly in the front - I like how it's turning out so far.

Tomorrow I need to go pick up the yarn I have on order to finish the arms - it came in last night.

It's freezing out, so good time to have a new wool sweater.

Well, I'm doing a half double crochet using bulky yarn and size 7 hook. It really does help things move along. :)

I hope everyone's well <3 I've been mostly focused with writing/planning, using my new spreadsheet to try and keep track of my words for Inkingitout. Yesterday I finished and submitted a piece of fanart for a challenge though, trying something new with it.
