Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: Do you have any crafting resolutions for 2024?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Well done for cover-up progress! The rows must be quite long now.

I NEED ADVICE. It was the hoodie's turn to be worked on today. I finished the ribbing of the sleeve I'm making first (too lazy to do a proper gauge swatch, so I'll use my sleeve as a swatch). Then I settled down to work row 1 of the sleeve body... only to discover I had cast on too few stitches. I'm four short!
I... don't know what to do. My Ravelry project page is here, where you can see a picture of the sleeve in progress:

From that picture, you can see I'm doing intarsia in the cabled section of the sleeve. The stitches are supposed to be divided 22-18-22. I have 18-18-22, so the first gray section is off by 4 stitches. I am wondering if I can just increase four stitches in that section on the first row? Thoughts?
If I wasn't doing intarsia, I'd be more willing to rip and redo, but the intarsia really slows things up, so I'm loathe to have to frog and start over.

That's what I'd do, just increase 4 stitches evenly across that section, then maybe do the other sleeve the same, but reverse the mistake. That way at least they'd match.

Then I got started on guinea pig 3 of 3. Here we go again...

I had hoped to get a couple other things done today, but my anxiety grabbed me early and now I really need to be working towards bed.

Well done on the journal progress, it sounds very pretty!

I'm trying to learn from last year's mistakes - super simplified versions of all the layouts done ahead of time, so it's functional before the year starts, then gradually decorating one layout at a time. That way hopefully things stay caught up and I don't end the year out with weird half-finished pages like last year.

I hope you're feeling better by now. *hugs*

Thanks. I am a little. It's one of those things that's going to be creeping around in the back of my brain for awhile, but I'm working through it. *hugs*

Originally, I was going to make the entire thing from Cascade Eco+ in Aporto, but of course, I didn't have enough, so I decided to do blocks of colour. I got this harvest gold and brick red that I thought went together nicely. Then, as I'm working on it last night, my eldest pointed out it was almost Captain Marvel colours, which was unintentional but kinda cool.
So, this is what I got so far. The blue came out very royal blue, it's really more dark teal. But yeah, progress!
