Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The only crafting I've done today, if you can call it that, is pinning a pair of arm warmers ready to be sewn up. Can't seem to bring myself to have another try at the sweater.


In better news, the flood waters are receding. There are now whole patches of my very uneven lawn that aren't underwater, and the water level down the bottom of the garden dropped by an inch between 10am and 3pm. The whole lawn is still a muddy, marshy morass, but if it doesn't rain the rest of the water will eventually clear, and then perhaps the ground will start to dry out.

I've worked a bit on the songbook. Not as much as I had originally planned (which had been little enough to begin with), but at least *some* progress has been made. Tomorrow is another day.

Baby book research went equally well - NOT! I've made notices for exactly one page. :(

I have knit my heel flap and I'm ready to turn the heel and then pick up instep stitches to knit the gusset!

I haven't done any stitching today - I spent my lunch break writing instead, which is totally fine. I may have some time tonight while watching TV, though. I'm interested to see how I can make this new stitch work with the colors already in the main body of the project.

Stitch Club today! I brought my Rebel Ripple, but didn't get much done on it because I made the mistake of pulling from the center of the skein, and this skein did NOT want me to do that. So I had a tangled mess, which two of the club denizens were kind enough to untangle for me. I did manage to finish the row I was on and start another row, but not much work. At least it's untangled now, though!

The lady who's commissioning me to do Christmas stockings stopped in. She wants FIVE stockings. I'm glad she's in no hurry and seems to be appreciative of the time it will take. She also approved my color choices even though they weren't that close matches - her original stockings are pretty vintage by now so the yarn is probably discontinued. I have promised her weekly updates, and plan on buying the yarn and getting started on Saturday. I aim to work on them a half hour a day, which should finish one in... hmm, 15 days or so? We'll see. Anyway, she gave me the deposit I asked for upfront, and will reimburse me for the yarn, too, so this is actually happening! Wish me strength and determination, I will need it.

Untangling can be a pain, I'm glad you had willing assistants! Kudos for getting a bit of work done on the blanket.

Got a skein of that Red Heart Granny Square yarn and made a couple of grannies with it. It's a bit fiddly but it works. I might makje a something with the 14 squares a skein makes.
