Hello, lovely crafters! Welcome to our daily check-in post, where you can tell everybody all about your most recent progress (or lack thereof). Feel free to also chat with other members and generally enjoy yourself!

Check-in is not mandatory, you decide if and when to take part in these posts.

Today's optional question:
Did you ever make something fandom inspired? Whatever it was recreating a garment from a movie, or simply crafting something that made you think of a particular character, any anything in between?

If you have questions or suggestions about the community, requests for tags, or want to host the daily check-in posts, head over to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment there.

I've finished the new front page to the Christmas-themed quiet book. Here you can see the scene without Santa:

And here is the same with Santa slipping down the chimney:

Basically all small parts are removable, with the exception of the Christmas wreath. Getting Santa down the chimney was a hard piece of work, but I'm very proud of the results!

It's really cute! And congrats on figuring out the Santa.

Thanks. It wasn't easy; I had to line the fireplace with plastic foil and sellotape, so that Santa wouldn't get stuck, but in the end I got it right. *g*

Last night I managed 70 rows on the first of a pair of arm warmers for my neighbour's daughter. Tonight, I knitted a complete 90 row arm warmer for my neighbour who lost half a pair I made her a couple of years ago. I had enough of the yarn left so I'm making a replacement for the missing one. It just needs sewing up.

The only fandom project I can think of was a cross stitch piece for Torchwood character Ianto Jones' shrine in Cardiff. A friend took it there for me and put it up, then someone stole it so all I have left are the photos.

A lot of knitting!

And booo that someone took it. :(

It was, but it was worthwhile.

I was miffed. I keep looking to see if it comes up for sale on ebay, but it hasn't so far. It's my own design, so there won't be another one like it. Ianto is also miffed.

I haven't watched the show in a while but I can see the flabbergasted face he'd make!

I haven't watched since Children of Earth (which I will never watch again) but I still write in the fandom, and I have a lot on Ianto icons. He would not be impressed by the theft.

For me, Torchwood ended exactly before they'd kill off Tosh.

I hated that Tosh and Owen were killed, but Ianto's death was the final straw.

Well done!

Wow. That sucks.

Thank you!

Yeah, it was annoying. I shall have to make a new one for myself one of these days.

No crafting today but over the last few I finished up my holiday cards, washed and blocked the couple presents I made, and have caught up some tidying. Tomorrow I need to cook.

I've made a Jayne hat (Firefly) and a Link hat (Zelda). Both were gifts.

Excellent work

No crafting today for me, because it was our family Christmas party. Which means I gave the poinsettia to older sister, and cards to Mom and younger sister promising ones for them, too. They were all well received! Hooray!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No, sorry, I just had to laugh because OH BOY HAVE I EVER!! My "Final Fantasy" tag on Ravelry has forty-one projects in it. The majority of those are public, here:

I've also made five Pokemon, and two Neko Atsume playing kitties. And I plan on more geeky projects in the future.

Excellent work!

Glad everyone liked their gifts.

I spent a huge amount of the day watercolor painting what are going to be extremely late cards (the spoon thing did not work) and I got 13 100 Days of Halloween Happy fills posted. My mom was going to deliver the cookies I baked for the neighbors, but I have no idea if it happened. Oh, and she told me the entire bottom third of the tree lights went out.

Originally, I was planning to stay up and do more, but I am out of wood for the time being so I am going to go hide in the bedroom where there is a heater and stay there until daylight.

As for the question, I write fanfic pretty regularly and I occasionally make something fandom inspired, but outside of writing it's kinda rare for me. I would like to do more fandom inspired stuff in general.

I don't think late matters with cards. Sounds like you got a lot done! I giggled a bit at the tree.

I hold on to that belief with my everything, lol. Thanks! The tree has been a saga this year.
