Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

After having brought the rest of my wares to school, I made a little detour to the craft supply discounter. I bought four packages of size A4 felt sheets (in white, beige, brown and moss green - very pretty colours) and three single large, size A5 felt sheets (in burgundy red, dark green and lime green). I also bought a new craft punch, with which I can punch out little trees (not pine trees!), some small bells (in gold, red and silver) and 3 packages of machine-cut felt ornaments - Christmas-themed ones, of course.

We won't discuss the amount of money I spent, despite the reduced prices, no, Preciousss, we won't. And tomorrow there are three other shops on my to-go list, before and after my appointment at the hairdresser's, so yeah, it will get even worse. *ducks in shame*

What a lovely selection of crafting goodies! I'm sure they'll all get used as you make more quiet books and other felt goodies.

The nearest thing to crafting I did today was rooting around in my extensive yarn stash looking for something I could use to make my neighbour a couple more pairs of arm warmers. Problem is, she prefers dark colours, dark blue, blue grey, khaki as so forth while most of my yarn is bright.


While I was rooting though, the phone rang and it was the mechanic to say my car was fixed. Yay! Cost less than I was expecting, although it was still expensive, but I have a working car again! So I walked down to get it, which isn't far, only a fifteen minute or so walk now my hips are improving with the physio. Fetched the car, which now purrs the way it should instead of rattling and clonking, came home, put the car away, then couldn't find my bag. I'd left it at the garage when I was paying. I'm such an idiot. But I'd already put my car away, and I didn't want to get it out again So I grabbed my bike, which I hadn't put away yet, and cycled back to the garage again, got my bag, and had to walk most of the way home because it's a long hill and I ran out of breath a third of the way up.


I'd been home maybe 20 minutes when the heavens opened and it poured with rain, so I got lucky there, but I spent what felt like most of the afternoon going back and forth along the same roads *sigh* Got home just in time to clean out the fire and do my other chores. I wonder if I can maybe stay home and rest tomorrow...

The past TWO days have been exhausting. I wanted to stay home and rest today, but that didn't happen, so I'm not holding out too much hope for tomorrow.

I'm sure I could be, but I'm hoping my stupidity has finally worn off. My legs hurt, I don't want to have to do another long walk, or even drive.

I have made two of Petal A, one of Petal D, and one leaf so far for the Poinsettia. I think I'm going to take a break from that and knit on my hoodie for a bit. Might do more poinsettia-ing later, might not, we'll see.

Sounds like your doing well! How many parts are needed for a complete poinsettia plant?

Petal A - 5 pieces (2 done)
Petal B - 5 pieces
Petal C - 3 pieces
Petal D - 3 pieces (1 done)
Leaves - as many as you want; 5-7 suggested

That's all the parts that need crocheting. There's some assembly to the other parts, and then putting the whole thing together, of course. I'm hoping to finish the crocheting part by the 20th, so I can take the pieces to Stitch Club and put it together there. I know they'd LOVE to see it!

That's a lot of pieces, but it sounds brilliant. I hope the parts are all ready in time for Stitch Club.

Did another row of my blanket... finally. Adding one row of squares onto the previous row is actually like doing twoxrows since you have to do two sides of each square. But I am half way done

Yes, the first row would be the easiest, unless you made the squares into strips and then joined the strips together.

Half way is fantastic!

Yeah originally I was going to do it in strips but I won't accidentally mess up the pattern if I just keep attaching squares to the whole thing
