Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another craft free day, too tired and not feeling my best, so I'm just going to relax this evening.

And I bet it's cloudy and dark all day, which doesn't help. I feel okay but the wind and grayness made it hard to get moving.

There was a bit of sunshine this morning, but the weekend forecast is gusty winds and heavy rain. I get SAD throughout winter, so it's a struggle to motivate myself to do much. This year's worse that usual because summer was so wet and dull.

You couldn't charge your solar battery to get through winter! I don't have SAD I just get cold easily and can't warm up. Annoying but that's it.

Exactly. I take Vit D all year round, but that only does so much. Hoping for a better summer next year.

I more or less finished the design of the new front page of the Christmas quiet book. I think I have an idea how to let Santa fall through the chimney upside down, but we'll see if that idea actually works. I've completed the Christmas tree on the snowman page and made 2/3rds of the snowman itself, which was reasonably good progress on a day like this. Of course, there is a great deal of minute detail work on both pages, plus the seaming and the binding, so it is possible that the book will have to wait another year to make its big entrance, but that's all right. I started it just for fun; if it finds a proper home, it's an added bonus, but I refuse to hurry and do inferior work.

Assuming it works! I've seen lots of such felt pages on YouTube and Pinterest, but no tutorial. So I'll have to be creative on my own.

You've made amazing progress! Even though it might not be completed for this year, it's going to look wonderful! Looking forward to seeing the other pages when they're completed.

I'm about 2/3 done with the last placemat. Should finish that tonight.

Worked on more (minor) repairs to the garage, on the route to being able to paint it. My in-laws had given me an Ahmad tea sampler box and I had a very nice cup of Earl Gray and a cookie to warm up.

There's 12 flavors in this box. I had black with apple yesterday. Going to work my way through.

The nails were found then, that's good. Hopefully painting will be underway soon.

I keep finding more and more bits to fix. I have mostly decided I should work on one side, get it all fixed, scraped, and then paint, then move on to the next wall.

Things always turn up in the most unexpected places. I've managed to lose a small hand broom somewhere within the flat, which isn't easy on a mere 53 square metres. I wonder when - and where -I'm gonna find it.

Technically a craft free day?

At work, I set up the new computer, like it's functional. I don't know if QuickBooks got put on it because I had to leave and the person I was working with was working on several other things, so I don't know how far she got.

I went to Lynne's and hung the wreaths over the windows of her enclosed porch. Apparently, I am the only one both tall enough to reach where they go and dextrous enough to use the staple gun, so I do this every year.

And at home, I made dinner appear.

Mom added another 4 layers of ornaments, a skirt, and a topper to the tree. It will be interesting to see how far she goes.

Considering what she has added in the meantime and that she was talking about getting out the box of translucent icicles, I would not be surprised. Kidding aside, she does normally take about a week to decorate the tree and it actually has less than usual. The fact that everything is glass concerns me a little though.

I'm amused by the term "craft free," it sounds nicer than "didn't get to craft" XD

I finished my jumper last night! Even wove in the ends. I'll get photos up later. Since yarn for the baby blankets hasn't arrived yet, I started on a small cross stitch kit of a boar. I've started many cross stitch kits, I've never finished one. This one might be doable... and a little change of pace between the marathon baby blanket knitting I expect to spend the next couple of months on....

Yay, well done! I haven't started mine yet, still have things I need to do like writing Christmas cards. I am so far behind it's not funny.

That sounds cute! I hope you get this one finished. Larger kits can be daunting, which is why I usually end up stitching small things for cards, but maybe you'll eventually complete the ones you've started.
