Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No crafting today. I had laundry to do, and folding wet sheets to dry around the radiators did my arms in.

Understandable. Laundry is exhausting but you got it done!!

Still got another 3 loads to do, but I can only get one done and dry in a week when I can't hang stuff outside, so it's going to take a while to get caught up. It rained all summer, so I'm still working my way through a backlog. *sigh*

Folding sheets with no help is never easy, but it's something I've had to master.

This morning, I spent about an hour and a half to sort out 24 different kinds of biscuits for the first five recipients (=those who had brought cookie tins). That freed up some space in my boxes for the next batch of biscuits that will (hopefully) be baked in the weekend. I've only left eight sorts to bake, and I'm determined to make at least four of them. The rest will be made if I feel like baking even more. If I don't, I'll leave them.

I also had to get my wares for the fair into school. Many of those are of paper, they wouldn't have survived a trip on the bus and the long walk from the bus stop to the school in this weather. Fortunately, a friend gave me a lift, and we got everything there, except the mini jars of grapefruit jam, the kandis sticks and the pencil holders. Those I'll take next Tuesday when I go there for choir practice anyway.

One more week till the Christmas fair!

So true, Getting anywhere when it's wet or slippery out can be a nightmare, and that's without transporting things that need to stay dry.

I finished knitting all the squares for a blanket a while ago. Today I stitched the first row together. My hands hurt and it looks a little wonky but no way am I going to redo it. It was pain so I think I'll just do one row a day for the sake of my sanity xD

One row a day sounds like a good plan. No point pushing too hard, better to take your time and not strain your hands more than you have to.

I did a few repeats of my shawl pattern. I'm getting close to the end of section 1. The next section is the stripes!

I've also finalized my time off from work. I'm going to have 14th-25th off. That's a big chunk of time for knitting! I'm hoping to finally fix my partner's robe. I made it for him last year but the shoulders don't fit. I think I attached them wrong.

Ordered yarn for Baby Blanket #2 (White, current red, "sweet potato" orange, dark green, pistachio green.) Like the other blanket, it's based on the parents-to-be's wedding colors, but this couple had a less formal wedding and it took me a while to figure out how to pattern it into something pleasing. I plan to make every other stripe white, and then do two stripes of each color, like in the top picture here. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/chevron-baby-blanket-19

I finished one sleeve on the jumper and after two evenings (and a bit of knitting during Zoom meetings) I'm just a few inches from completion of the second sleeve. I'm already toying with the idea of my next jumper.

Two jumpers and a blanket... I need to think about a small project!

I baked cornbread from scratch last night, which I've only done a few times and still feels novel.

Well done on jumper progress, it'll be done before you know it. The blankets are very big projects, they'll probably take a while.

I am running on about an hour and a half of sleep, so things are a bit muddled. This morning, I stress knitted for a couple hours. It helped a lot.

I thought about writing, which didn't really happen, but I did get a post about chapters of Batman: Wayne Family Adventures that live rent free in my head and redid an old meme. So, yay DW posts.

Mom got the Christmas tree up and had me put on the first 4 layers of ornaments. Apparently, her theme this year is all vintage glass.

And we reinventoried the baking supplies to help make a better plan of attack, especially as it looks like I will be house-sitting for 2 weeks, not 4 days now, which means baking in an unfamiliar kitchen.

That is the hope and the dream, but I also have work on Fridays so we'll see.

So many things. I've got a competition going with a friend to keep her motivated. This coming week, I need to at least bake some thank you cookies for the neighbor that helped us bury our cat (the plan is a chocolate cookie with M&M's), chocolate chip cookies for the library staff (and the art book workshop regulars and book club; the last meeting for the year for both are on the same day at the library), something for Lynne (either shortbread or peanut butter cookies), and we have apples that need to be used up, so probably a pie for us.

Members can also make their own posts on the community, although very few seem to do that, which is sad. There are a few member introduction posts, but it never quite seemed to catch on. No idea why. I should probably do some posts myself, I just never seem to find the time.
