No crafting today, too many chores and I'm a bit lacking in energy. Some days I just can't motivate myself. Winter's like that, too dull, grey, wet, and cold.

I hear ya! We had the bi-weekly cleaning frenzy, and on Wednesday they'll come to make our bathtub a walk-in one. The flat looks like a refugee camp: we had to empty the bathroom, and boy was it full of stuff...

That sounds awful, but for an excellent cause so it will be worthwhile in the end.

Cold here but at least the sun came out today.

Sun is good, although it's usually colder when the skies are clear. We have sunshine and highs of 3C for most of this week, -2C at night *shivers* That's approx 37.4F dropping to 28.4F.

It's going from nearly 40F (4C) in mid afternoon to 19F (-7C) at night here. Usually this holds off until later in December, so I'm annoyed. Might warm up a bit and I can paint the garage after all.

Yikes, that is SERIOUSLY cold! Stay warm!

So, after re-establishing the original configuration of the flat (save for the bath... and the kitchen where all that stuff from the bath went) I actually felt inspired to do some crafting. If for no other reason than to save the last shreds of my sanity.
I filled some little plastic bottles with glitter powder and the beads of a broken necklace, creating something akin a snow globe effect, and decorated them with translucent stickers. They look really great.

Also, I recycled eighteen ribbon rosettes, complete with paper flower background, that someone wanted to get rid off. I fixed the rosettes to the flowery background again; I think they look good enough that way, too. If the sun deigns to show its face tomorrow, I'll take a photo of the whole bunch (and also of the Santa pencil holder; I still owe you guys that on).

On the surprise box front, I've reached #110; assuming I've counted right. But I'll have Mum re-count them anyway before the fair. She's the one with the head for numbers.

That's a lot of progress today. Crossing fingers for the bathroom work!

Thanks. We are really nervous about the bathroom work, so sympathetic finger crossing might help.

Today we cleaned a bunch in the living room. Washed curtains, pulled furniture away from the wall, etc etc. Still some to do, but it's the parts I do not need help with. Much better in here.

Starting placemat #3 now.

I got to the decreases section on my hat. I'm playing a bit of yarn chicken with it but it looks like I will win!

I also picked out my next project. I've got a bit more knitting Mojo so I'm going to try to make the Daybreak shawl by Steven west. I still have to stash dive for the yarn but I have some in mind.

My bestie is visiting, and she's a fellow yarnie so we've been knitting in the evenings together! I've really missed getting back into wool after a long drought.

I've been working on finishing off a jumper I think I started Jan/Feb this year? I'm just about to do the cuff on one sleeve, and then it's the next sleeve and it's done! And I'll have another jumper for this chilly weather!

I've also been working on a little Rowandean embroidery kit over the last month or so. I think once I add a few more beads I'll call it done.
