Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

50 arm warmer rows while watching Strictly! Yay!


I spent most of the afternoon sorting spiders. I have definitely used at least 76 different fabrics. Some I only had enough to make one or two, while others I have a dozen. I sorted the spiders into the different fabrics so I could have a good selection. Those I only had one or two of got put away because at some point I want to take photos of the whole array together, one spider in each fabric, there just isn't time right now so that will have to be done at a later date. In the meantime, I selected 65 spiders in different colours, and 20 black ones. I'll put out some of the black and a selection of colours, then add more as spiders depart. Not sure how many I can fit on my web, assuming I can even put it up. Only two days left to get everything ready!

Plus all the writing, and watching strictly, and cleaning out the fire... So glad the clocks go back tonight here in the UK. I get an extra hour in bed!

Today, I worked a bit on the Heineken Santas and the little seraphs. Three of four Santas are completed, and the fourth one is so far that all I need is to sew it together. The seraphs are a different thing; aside from the prototype, the rest are still in pieces. There are many small details like sequins and so on, so it will take time.

Sounds like the seraphs will be very pretty and twinkly!

Oh, yes! I have extra sparkly sequins! For that reason I used pastel colours for the seraphs themselves; bright colours would have made them gauché.

Spend the morning preparing as we are expecting the first ice or snowstorm. Got out the winter coats and electric blanket, snow shovel and ice melt. I would have sprinkled some ice melt already but it's started out with heavy rain.

Below freezing last night for the first time. A couple days ago it was over 80 and I was wearing a tank top.

The last few days have been a bit blah, but I got some knitting done.

Thursday, I finished knitting the last knitten because Friday was the last meeting of my fiber group. The knitten was so close to being done, I wanted it finished and a new project started for group. Thus, I started one of the hats from the learning to knit book I'm working through.

Friday morning, I get to group and it's cancelled for the 3rd month in a row. At least it was the last meeting so the disappointment will not continue.

I have been working on the hat though. It's a little slow going and my needles are a bit short, but so far it's working.

I also beta'd some ficlets for a friend.

Today was pick up day for my paintings. It was a little sad taking them down and putting them in a box to come home, but I know some people enjoyed them.

After work today, it was also the first meeting of the library d&d group. I used a premade character instead of making my own, but I role played my little heart out, so creative in it's way.

I'm planning to spend the rest of the weekend catching up. Fingers crossed.

Yay for knittens, and new hats!

It sucks that the fibre group was cancelled yet again. Will they ty again next year? There must be people who'd be interested.

Glad that there were people who enjoyed your exhibition, but sad that it's over.

I'm not sure. The woman leading it seemed to have trouble keeping up with it. So it's doubtful unless someone else wants to take it up.

A shame for the group being cancelled. Couldn't they inform people, so that you wouldn't have to go there in vain? Still, you had a very busy time.

Some groups do let you know & some don't. It just depends on who's leading them. Also, her grand excuse for cancelling all three months was basically she forgot group was happening. I have learned to be prepared with a back up activity to do at the library until my ride returns.
