Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Also, tomorrow will be cleaning day, and that means moving my storage boxes. That gives me the chance to re-find the colourfully painted apricot pits in order to fill (and close) the already finished little surprise boxes. I think I know where they are, but one can never be sure. Wish me luck! *g*

Valley of Kings:
Classically Dead Simple:
Started sewing a toile for a dress pattern I was hoping to make for a frocktails event on Saturday, and will probably finish the toile but not the dress. So I'll probably end up wearing the toile.
It's been an education in sewing with sheers and slippery fabrics, though!

Good luck with the toile and the dress!

Yikes! I can imagine slippery fabric would be difficult to work with. Good luck!

I did finish knitting the one mitten and have started the first of the last pair I will be doing this month. Also it turns out, while I have been calling it the mitt-athon, it's actually called the mittalong. Every day is a school day.
Cross your fingers for me. The tech is supposed to come in the morning to fix the phone after no landline for 2 weeks. I should have gone to bed hours ago >.>

Fingers are crossed! Hope you get your phone working again!

Our phone that is hardwired to the landline in the kitchen is between 20 and 24 years old and I only know that because it replaced the rotary dial phone that came with the house when my mom bought it in the 70s and my friends made such a big deal about us finally having a phone they could figure out how to use.

Aw, poor kids not knowing how to work a rotary phone! We didn't even HAVE a home phone until I was 17 or 18, and then it was a rotary one for many years. I kinda miss it, but my hearing isn't great so I need one with an amplifier on it. Might be getting hearing aids next month!

Rotary phones definitely have a certain charm to them. I miss ours too. Yeah? They can be life changing! Depending on your type of hearing loss, they can be a big adjustment too (I say this with no personal experience, just from living with my mother and talking with friends who have them). I hope they work well for you :)
