Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No cross stitch today because I was out all morning. I had hoped to get my flu jab, but my pharmacy called before I left to say they weren't in yet, and the big pharmacy was doing them, but it was by appointment only. I did, however, manage to get my glasses, which have been remade. Tomorrow I will see if I can see through them now.


As I was out picking up a few things I needed, I also got some things I don't technically NEED, but bought anyway. A few more necklaces which I've already dismantled while watching TV, a pack of 4 small three-fold aperture cards, and some Aida fabric for cross stitch which I shouldn't have bought because I already have a lot, but there was white and antique white 20 hpi, and cream and white 22 hpi. I like stitching on the higher counts because I only have to use one strand of thread. I always have trouble working with two, just can't keep them from twisting. Oh, and I got a small clear stamp of a teddy bear.


Then I got something I really shouldn't have bought, but it looked at me as I was leaving the shop so I had to go back and get it. It's a plush owl, rainbow coloured, with a unicorn horn in the middle of its forehead. It has the biggest golden eyes imaginable, and it looked so hopeful I couldn't say no. Why do stuffed animals have to be so irresistible?

I know, I can't help it, and the poor thing is wounded. One wing is coming off, which I will fix.

It was a very tiring morning, I didn't get everything put away until after 1pm *wilts*

Plushies know they are irresistible and they know exactly who to make eye contact with in the store. They are adorable evil like that. ;)

So far so good, I put them on first thing this morning and breezed through my morning routine with no issues. Wearing my reading glasses now, because I have to when I'm on the computer.

It was!

I think the poor unicorn owl just desperately wanted to be rescued. She's sitting with two other owls, an assortment of teddy bears, and a sloth now. One wing needs repairing, but I'll get that done once she's settled in and I have more time.

There's a sign and everything, but it's not on display anymore. It used to hang above the porch door, but it fell down when I was on my way out one day. There was a crash behind me and I turned to see the sign on the ground. I very much appreciated it letting me get out of the way before falling.

Not much time was left for crafting today, as I was baking for tomorrow's small party, but I did some minor things: tiny little items made of the felt rests left after having cut out the doughnut keyring shapes. That gave me the chance to use up some sequins that were too large for my usual work, so it is a win-win situation.

With all the baking you had planned, I'm amazed you managed to squeeze in any crafting at all. Well done!

Needs must! Christmas if creeping closer and ideas are multiplying - I have no idea how to keep up with them!

Getting a couple crafting things done and using stash is definitely a win. Hope all the baking went well.

Baking went very well indeed, thanks. The guests appreciated the results and even took some cookies home with them.

I'm so glad this idea how to use up the large sequins came! They've been sitting on a shelf for years, literally, but this sort (flower- or star-shaped ones) are only sold in big packages, in three different sizes, and the largest was simply too large for me... until now.

I'm trying to do more of that thinking - use up bits! I've used some flower buttons that have been in my sewing box for at least 20 years recently.

I feel like I've not been getting anything done. Not true of course, but one likes doing more than chores!

Picked up my project basket today and worked on an extra large leaf for a bit. I'm not too enthusiastic about them. Might need to come up with a different thing for my porch hanging.

Still haven't frogged the hoodie. Too soon yet. But I've done an hour on nephew's blanket, which means I started the mosaic colorwork. About to sit down on the bed and work on either it or the placemats, as my feet are cold and I want to bury them under blankets rather than sit at my desk.

It's hard to undo something you've put so much effort into, but it can wait until you're ready.

Excellent work on the blanket. Hope you can get your feet warm. Having cold feet isn't fun.

I heard from the library (there seems to have been a phone issue) and I hang my art in the morning! (I should be sleeping.)

I didn't get any posting stuff done. I had hoped to get it hand written out so I could type it up on an actual computer at the library tomorrow after art hanging stuff, but... it was a bad day. I will take my notes tomorrow and wing it.

Very early this morning I also knitted on the drop stitch shawl.
