Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

With space in the cupboard thanks to getting rid of quite a few books and moving others, I had room for some ornaments, still in their boxes, that I can't display at the moment due to lack of space, so I packed those awa\y, except for three I'm getting rid of.


This afternoon I did some work on the tropical flower cross stitch for my neighbour's birthday. If it turns out that I can't get it finished in time, I have a lovely rose already stitched that I can use for her card instead.


Then this evening, I crocheted some meece ears for the sparkly meeces. I now have all the parts made for 20 sparkly meeces, although I plan on knitting another 10. This is an occasional project, it's doubtful any sparkly meeces will get finished this year but they're underway.

You can never know! Meeces tend to breed like... well, like meeces...

So, the cherry pit pillow project is finished. I've made a total of four, all different sizes, since I used leftover fabric. The last pillow-case got stuffed with toy stuffing and lavender, so that makes five little pillows altogether. Add the two mini ones with the keyrings and I have a proud number of pillows.

Third weird day in a row. I knitted on the drop stitch shawl. I also tried to find the labels I wanted to use for my paintings when I hang them on the gallery wall at the library this week, but instead found a very thick stack of paperwork Mom still had from her job 30ish years ago and a large stack of floppy disks, mostly program disks for a "borrowed" computer we had long enough ago that it ran on DOS.

I plan on doing a few more things before bed, but I feel odd, so there is a good chance I won't and decided to check on now.

Hopefully that's the last weird day for a while, things come in threes quite often.

Isn't it amazing the curious things that turn up when you-'re looking for something unrelated? I recently found two letter to my mum from the hardware store that's closing, both from the 80s, one telling her she's getting a raise and the other telling her she's qualified for the long service award. They must have meant a lot to her for her to keep them tucked away.

Congrats on getting knitting done despite everything, and I hope the oddness goes away.

I think it was because dad held the purse strings, paid the household bills, so earning money herself and getting a raise was a big deal. Her money paid for stuff for me and my sister.
