Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

A bit more moving stuff around today, a bit of flipping through cross stitch magazines looking for a design for my neighbour's 90th birthday, and I finished the dismantling of necklaces, which included some time crawling around on the floor, feeling the carpet, which is dark blue, trying to find some teeny tiny back seed beads which escaped. I found ten. If there are any more, they're destined to get vacuumed.
While Strictly was on, I knitted 6 meece bodies using various colour of yarn with the sparkly purple yarn I bought earlier this year. I did say I would make sparkly meeces. Of course, now my stupid thumb hurts.

Meeces will always creep back in. The sparkly yarn is a menace to work with though.

This afternoon, doing some writing of my own, I wanted my character, whose feet were dangling over the side of the boat, to lift his feet back onto the deck. I hit a wrong key, the R instead of the E, and despite not having the text prediction turned on, my computer helpfully decided to fill in the word as ferret. That also gave me the giggles. No idea how there was suddenly a ferret on the boat...

I too have a carpet where everything blends in, hunting for tiny escaped things sucks.
Sparkly meeces!

I found two other beads as well while I was down there, bigger ones from the previous day or two that had gone under the bed.

XD It was a very fruitful mission.

I could have done without the crawling...

The crawling part is always awful, as is the getting up off the floor part. Sometimes, I just choose to stay on the floor for awhile, but it displeases my cat.

I do not miss cleaning out our fireplace when it was our primary heat source, but I didn't have to crawl around on the floor too much.

Since today is the first day of fall, I'm working on a couple giant leaves to decorate the porch. I also made muffins again, this time I added black walnuts and cardamom.

Looking forward to seeing your leaves when they're done!
You come up with some delicious muffin ideas.

Very nice and those muffins sound delicious.

It looks in the pic like it won't close in front, but it does, which is important because the edges get sewn together after a round of edging is crocheted, to make a pull-over. Also, I think it's plenty long already. The pattern calls for 8 more rows, but my row gauge was bigger than the pattern's gauge. I'm going to do 4 more rows, because I need to do a row with some BLO so there are loops free for crocheting the kangaroo pocket on. I'm glad some of the crocheting will be cut out, because I really want to finish this by end of month.
Also, I have started some Celtic Placemats for my sister, who is probably going to be hosting mom and I for Christmas. I don't usually give my sisters Christmas gifts (I lack money, which they're aware of) but since she's hosting, I felt I should give her something. Thankfully, I had a JoAnn gift card which more than covered for the big ball of thread and the new hook I needed.

Good luck with the placemats! How many are you making?

I did manage to knit on both the drop stitch shawl and the full sized baby blanket a little while I did research for the Halloween Baking Challenge themed table for the table comm I co-mod.
