Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

30 more spiders on elastic, 20 on white and 10 on black. I'm now completely out of white elastic, but hopefully the new reels will arrive tomorrow.


I also cut out bodies for 30 mini spiders, each one in a different fabric. I doubt I'll make them this year, there's not enough time left before Halloween and I have other things to sort out, but I'll make them eventually.

Well, I wanted to make some mini ones as brooches, and the prototype turned out okay, even though I didn't sew a brooch back onto it. They're a project for later though, because they're going to be quite fiddly and I still need to look at my beads, see what might work for eyes.

I have to go out tomorrow so I'll see if I can find any elastic while I'm shopping, just in case.

I might well. I ordered two reels, but I've used up the one and a half I already had so I'm just hoping two more will be enough to finish the spiders I already have.

Bad crafting day

I had really bad luck today, and still don't know what I've done wrong. Sordid details of my crafting woes can be read here. I don't want to clutter up this place with my whining.

Ugh, what a pain for you! But at least you won't make that mistake again. With each new project, you have to learn as you go.

But you know to check the fit before sticking things together next time. Maybe when you do that you'll see what went wrong. You weren't looking for problems with the first one so of course you didn't notice until it was too late.

I had an appointment this morning, so I'm mostly just fiddling with scrap projects and reading.

I have been saving a lot of seeds off of my flowers. I've just plucked some more bachelor buttons and marigolds (I have a ton of marigold seeds, maybe I should stop!).

Appointments really mess up one's day. I have one in the morning...

Gathering seeds is always a good idea. Just chuck them all on the garden in spring and see what happens. You can never have too many marigolds, the bees will thank you.
