Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I haven't finished the rings for the spiders, instead I've cut bodies and bases to go with the 25 rings I already have which don't match any of the spiders I've already made. I cut the yarn for legs last night and made 15 sets, so there are still 10 sets to do tonight, and the eyes to cut. Figured I might as well get all the parts cut while I can see what I'm doing before the wet weather returns and the skies get gloomy.

Ooh yeah we've got a solid 8 days of rain in the forecast up here, too. Well done on your progress and I hope the wet weather isn't too hard on you!

I won't be enjoying it, that's for sure, but hopefully I can stay indoors.

We should get thunderstorms overnight, which I hope for because it's been way too warm this week.

Yep! Wasn't going to waste all those rings I made, so more spiders it is.

Across the channel in Europe it's too hot, and here in England we're still waiting for summer. The weather just gets more and more screwed up =(

Well, it must have worked 😉 because it started to cool down today, and it was mostly cloudy which is a big help, as my flat is mostly south-faxing.

Glad you're getting some cooler weather. It's cooler here too, which isn't what I wanted but I'll have to put up with the return of the dreary weather.

Still making good spider progress. I'd trade you some sun for some rain, but you probably don't want it to be over 100F. Maybe can split it and be more reasonable for both of us.

I'd like around 80F, that would be good. Instead, tonight it will be below 50, and it's not even going to reach 70 for the next week or so. That's how it's been most of 'summer'.

Definitely too cold! I don't mind up into the low 90s at all, we could definitely spare an extra 10 degrees and still be quite hot here.

Two rows thus far - I got hit with probably a week's accumulated exhaustion earlier so we'll see if I manage another but I am considering it. Just over halfway through!

I finished the unicorn's body!
Coming up next is the head.
I also went to the nearest craft store and got a 5.5 hook for future projects, but no yarn as they didn't have any cotton of the right weight. That will have to wait for the weekend.

I *almost* finished the back cover of the felt book. The delay is caused by the extreme heat, which forces us to keep the blinds down over the greater part of the day, so crafty times are reduced for the early morning - but I just can't get up at ungodly hours, unless I absolutely have to. Still, I hope that in another day or two the back cover will be done, and then I can face the problem of binding. Ain't I lucky? [/sarcasm]

I'm the same, getting up early is torture. You're making good progress despite the heat though. Hopefully you'll have the back finished soon, then you'll be ion the final stretch with this one.

We only drink alcohol-free champagne (with peach flavour) anyway. But you're definitely right about ginger ale.

I used to love Canada Dry ginger ale, but these days I'm into Old Jamaica Ginger Beer. It's non-alcoholic, because I don't drink alcohol, but it has quite a bite to it.

Super hot here too but air conditioning is common. :/ Is putting off the binding only going to make it more painful?

At least when I finally attack it, it will be done in the foreseeable future.

Have been struggling under chores, but the main floor rugs are washed and put back. Decided the heat had to be good for something.

I settled down and finished a dishcloth, will start another after dinner.

Isn't it hard to wash the rugs by these temperatures?

Cleaning them in the morning, and then the sun gets to them! Dry faster than when I do this in fall.

We are quilted and bound (it's a rough job, not ideal) and now have to get the sleeve on, label it, and bury as many threads as we can find (inevitably only to spot one when it's hanging up in the show because OF COURSE).
