Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

More dreary weather, and more spiders. Up to 450 now.


Next step will be to get all the rings ready for them, and I'll need to make sure I have enough shirring elastic to dangle the spiders from.

I'm not a fan of big spiders, but I like the ones I'm making. They're pretty colours and have fluffy feet *grins*

What kind of rings are you going to use?

The original idea was to use 1 inch plastic curtain rings, but it turned out they were 20 for £5, which is ridiculous. I can't afford £130 for curtain rings. So instead, I have the flexible plastic rings from around the neck of the bottle my daily yogurt drink comes in. It's a pain trying to snip off spiky bits on them, but it has to be done. Then I crochet around them so they look nicer and any rough bits left on the rings are covered. As of tonight, I have 200 mostly done. I just need to weave in the yarn ends.

It's only 1:54pm and so far today I have finished a keyhole scarf. Now, I really should be working on the crocheted shawl, but I'm tired and thinking of just saying eff it, and calling it a small scarf and submitting it to Nerdopolis as is.

Well done on the keyhole scarf!

You can always submit the shawl as it is, then make it bigger at a later date if you want to.

Lost my morning to another migraine and spent all day busily trying to catch up - managed exactly one row on the cover-up but that feels like a win with the day I've had!

I don't remember today really well. I did remember that yesterday I actually wrote a little Stargate Atlantis ficlet for the Winterfest in July bingo. So I guess I did do something yesterday.

Today, I made some time at the library so I could type on a real computer, but I didn't get either project done. Though I did get my bingo posted. My projects were: a discussion of my Batman/Justice League YouTuber AU for the "post anything" prompt for 100 days of Halloween Happy and a response post to the buzzfeed article "18 Things About American High Schools That Brits Find Confusing". They will get posted, just not today.

For the Halloween Happy prompt fill on Instagram, I posted the mess I made of trying to find the end of a skein of yarn.

I know I poked at writing out some knitting pattern alterations and beautifying my bullet journal.

I also had to close the bingo round as my co-host was suddenly unable.

Mostly I just remember being repeatedly attacked with affection from the cats I'm staying with.

I prefer to work from the inside of a skein. It does get alarmingly messy at times trying to find the end.
