Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another chilly, wet day, and another 10 spiders. The first of today's batch, the eyes ended up crooked, poor thing.


If I make any more small spiders I'll have to see if I have any small beads I can use as eyes. I used the same sized felt circles as on the larger spiders and they're a bit too big on the smaller version.

Well, it will depend on whether I have small beads with holes big enough to pass a needle through. Whether or not they'll be sparkly is unknown.

Yeah, if you can't run the needle through the bead that will be far too irritating.

I do have beading needles, but they're designed for threading beads, not for sewing through fabric, so I'll have to be careful when it comes to choosing.

I finished the cat!

That happened in the morning.

And then this evening I started on the dinosaur. I have the beginning (maybe a fourth) of its head done.

Today I make the chicken(s) for the songbook(s). Now only the ant(s) is/are left, and then the real "fun" begins: putting the book together and binding it. *shudders*

I managed to get some weeding done today. Me sitting on the ground was too interesting to a neighbor's cat, he rubbed all over me and wrestled with my trowel.

No crafting today, though I was able to connect to the internet.

Instead, I went through and sorted (and trashed) a bunch of paper while I binged season 3 of The Witcher.

Dabbling with relearning crochet. A few false starts just learning rows of the basic stitches. My first square was a bit rubbish. The second attempt I think I got it right. Now I can try a few other patterns for squares before deciding on one and buying some proper wool in the right colours.



Also managed a few greeting cards over the weekend.

That's a pretty pattern! You're way better at crochet than I am =)

You're an amazing knitter though and knitting is way harder than crochet.
Mum has ordered two books of crochet patterns in addition to the free patterns I found. She's made a few blankets over the years so if I can master some squares we can slowly put something together.

That's kind of you, but I'm not that great, there's a lot I never got the hang of.

Sounds like you'll both get to have fun with the new books! I have no idea how to follow crochet patterns *grins*
