Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Yes, that makes sense descriptively, just not in any other respect. Why would anyone insist on anything so arbitrary?

I do rather envy you growing up learning to ride. I used to get donkey and pony rides anywhere they were available, mostly the beach or at the zoo, had two proper riding lessons, a few rides on ponies belonging to friends, and hour-long pony treks on holiday when I was older. An hour was my limit because I had terrible allergies and one hour on horseback led to barely being able to breathe for the rest of the day, but I loved riding so I endured.

I have no idea and sadly, many things from childhood regarding my paternal parent fall into that category.

It was a treasured part of my childhood, though I always feel a little weird bringing it up because people tend to envision I had these grand formal riding lessons, when it was time spent on my grandparents small farm, set back in the middle of the woods. Magical to me, but it's lead to some misunderstandings.

You poor thing! Were the allergies to the horse or the outdoors? I wish that everyone who loved riding could have access. I think it's really important for people, especially children, to spend time with animals and it's a wonderful way to do so.

I think it's brilliant you got to spend time on a farm, that's something I would have enjoyed =)

Horses, unfortunately. It's the dust in their coats, I think, or that's what I've been told is the probable cause. I was never any great shakes as a rider, but I could stay on, and the people at the trekking place my friend and I went to recognised us when we went back the next year. They were like, "Oh, you're an experienced rider and you know the route." Gave me a 16 hand horse, my friend a pony, and sent us off by ourselves *grins* It was fun.

I think I've only ever come off once, and then I just slid off sideways when the pony I was on decided to kick the pony behind it. That was my second riding lesson. On the first one my reins broke, lol.
