Check-In Post July 9th 2023

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Fluffed their feet, how cute! Well done on getting so many spiders made. I'm sure the kids will love them!

I'm trying to imagine what spiders with fluffy feet might look like. *g*

Must scroll back and take another look then, as I don't remember. :)

Spider army continues to grow, aided by severe weather.

We've had a couple storms with very high winds recently. Inspire you to put on shoes and stay away from windows.

Spiders would definitely be less scary if their feet were fluffed! :)

I am currently listening to lo-fi pop on the Square Enix Music Channel (they've been live streaming it for a few days) and working on a Cherry Blossom Bonsai:

If you guessed that this is for a Nerdopolis challenge, you're right! It's for the Global Community: Festivals challenge. Several locations around the world have Cherry Blossom festivals, which is what I immediately thought of when I read the prompt. I'd love to go to one some day, as cherry blossoms are so pretty!

I'm also doing a cowl for the Volcanoes challenge. The cowl happens to be called Lava Flow and I'm doing it in red yarn, of course.

I'm glad my crafting mojo has returned; I missed it last month.

Ooh both of those look very cute! I saved the cowl pattern for myself. Thanks for the link!

Lo and behold! Page 3 is finished!

[personal profile] wiseheart 2023-07-09 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that that would be such a feat, since all I had to add was the flea, everything else was done already, but still:

I am actually very happy with this one. That means three pages done, five more to go - I might even finish the book in time.

I've frogged the placemat again. I should work on the hand sewing more this evening.

Mostly I have been doing little bits around the yard. Weeding, planning.

Best of luck with having another go at your placemat and good job on the bits and bobs around the garden. Always good to knock a few of those things off your list.

I've been working on knitting my sock and I'm at 5 in. I have about 2.5 inches to go before the heel. The color of the yarn when knitted up is mostly lavender with occasional lines of green which show up in pairs with a few rows of purple in between. It's lovely.

I do like the sound of purple and green for a sock combo - very scottish heather!
