Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

10 more spiders made, complete with eyes. That makes 105. Now I'm going to sew some eyes on the other spiders that are still waiting to be finished.

105 pairs of eyes? Good grief! I hope *your* eyes won't become totally clouded by the time you finish the rest!

105 spiders with eyes, not all done on the same day though. Actually the total is now 115, because I sewed eyes on another 10 this evening.

It's a lot of spiders, with many more to come. I estimate I have at least another 200 bodies etc. cut out and ready to be assembled!

It was a very busy day - Saturdays usually are - but I still did a bit of crafting: finished the wave for the background of the songbook and completed the three partially done crows that are supposed to cut the wheat on Page #1... while watching crap telly. That's more than I hoped for.

All progress is worthwhile and that sounds like quite a bit =)

Actually, it was very little. Making the finger puppets is easy, and they were half-done already. The background elements are the real pain. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of those to make.

Just picking away at my two embroidery projects - my crochet projects haven't even shipped yet, so I probably won't get them til after my vacation, unfortunately.

This morning I did some weeding because it was nice, rained last night and cooled off.

This afternoon I started sanding the door trim that I had mostly stripped paint from with the heat gun. I didn't make a lot of progress but know what I'm doing now and have all the equipment handy. And the wood is so beautiful underneath!

Natural wood, well sanded, looks so much better than painted. Will you be leaving it paint-free?

Yes - it's so much nicer this way. Just a clear coat of polyurethane to protect it.

Sounds like hard work, but it clearly has its own reward.

Today went better. Originally, I was ditching the Pirates of the Caribbean movie marathon at the library to clean house. Instead, I binged Our Flag Means Death and knitted. It did finally click how to fix the wonky stitch, so that is taken care of. I also brought the shawl into very bright light and found the two spots where I failed to yarn over, so that explains being two stitches short. Like I said yesterday, with this pattern, being two stitches short isn't important, so I'm not going back and fixing them and it's really difficult to even seen where the two problem spots are. (Also, the problems are like over 70 rows back and I'm not ripping that far back when it's not important to do so in this case.) It does feel better to know where the problem is.

We also had what seemed like all the wildlife today. At the same time as all 6 crows were hanging out in our yard, our next door neighbor was being visited by a large for his age buck on her front porch. Then the doe who regularly visits our area also decided to go up on the neighbor's porch. (The buck decided to flee in response.) It was an interesting afternoon.

We really do. A local beach had to be closed the other day because a mountain lion was hanging out on one of the large rocks offshore.

Weird, what was so interesting on their porch? Were they eating a plant?

They have a salt lick that moves around their front yard, but they seem to be putting out a little dish of feed on their porch now too. They used to have plants. The deer ate them though and they got rid of the plants. (We tried to warn them when they moved in.)

Thanks! It is. You never know what's going to show up. Yesterday, a doe brought her two fawns around and they were so small, you could still see their spots.
