Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.


Today's Question: At the request of new member cora... In light of new members, where are we all in the world? No need for exact locations, just general country is fine! Leaving this question open for a few more days so anyone who hasn't answered it yet still can.

Pulled a few weeds this morning, just because I thought I should do something garden-related every day if I can.


Five more spiders made. I'm still trying to regain the knack of spacing the legs out neatly. Some of the spiders so far look a little lopsided. I doubt the kids will care, or even notice, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I feel bad for the wonky spiders...

I will still love my wonky spiders too. It's not their fault.

They're fine, but hopefully my technique will improve. I used to be good at this, but I had better eyesight back then, and my hands weren't so stiff.

If the kids care, I would love a wonky spider…I would absolutely make up an entire backstory for why they are wonky!

You sound like me! I once went through an entire shelf of stuffed sheep to find the wonkiest one they had, then bought it *grins* He is very cute, but his entire face is twisted to one side like he ran into a wall.

No crafting done today, just a bit of craft supply shopping. I was busy. I also tried to re-find a very cool Christmas ornament I'm sure I saw on Pinterest yesterday, but no such luck. In fact, I was fairly sure I'd actually saved the pic... apparently, I was wrong. Too bad. :(

In case anyone comes across it: it's a six-pointed (I think) felt star of a very light blue, with the face of a little angel on the upper point. Now, I'm sure I could make one (or twenty) without the visual aid, but I've forgotten if there were any other decorative elements on that star, and if yes, which ones. So, should any of you see something like that by accident, I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
(Because, obviously, I don't have enough other projects going on...)

I know what sort of ornament you mean, I've seen crochet hexagons turned into angels.

Yes, well, I do remember the basic design, just not the little details that made it so lovely. :(

That would be grand. I do have my own ideas, but I remember having loved the original design. If only I could remember the details!

I hate when I know I've seen something neat and I was so sure I'd saved it but I can't find it again anywhere! Good luck!!

I finished sewing the first big pillowcase. While not difficult, I am a little frustrated with how long this takes to do.

Otherwise mostly chores. I also found a couple tools to start on my next part of the house project (stripping paint).

Yay for finished pillow, even if it took longer than you would have liked.

Stripping paint is hard! Good luck with that.

I think I should pin the other and have my aunt do it with her machine. Which will take a couple minutes only.

Machines are a lot faster if you know someone who's good with one.

Oh wow! Best wishes, just moving across town made me tired. :D

Believe me, I'm exhausted! I had to move from Maryland to Massachusetts and then I'll go from Massachusetts to Tokyo… I can't wait to finally settle in!

I am 50% of the way through the sock’s mate. And then work happened. And then video games. And now Dreamwidth 😂😂😂

That's fast progress on sock number two, but yes, there are so many things to distract from crafting, and many of them are online...

It’s a pair of shortie socks :) I dislike wearing tube socks.

Everyone has their own preferences =) I like short for summer, but long for winter as I feel the cold.

That is pretty good though, know people who never make that second sock!
