Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

There was rain late yesterday afternoon so this morning I went out in the garden for a bit and pulled up 120 euphorbias from the patch of ground behind the shed. Most of them were at least 4ft tall. There must be twice as many, and probably more, on the banking, so I need to tackle them next. I wanted to see what they looked like when they grew. I have now seen, and I want to get them out before their seeds ripen. It's a jungle out there ;)


The last 20 sets of spider legs are done! I have picked out my first 10 spiders to make, and the next step is to fluff out the ends of the twisted cords for their feet. Tomorrow I hope to start building spiders *grins*

Thanks, hoping to tackle the jungle a bit each morning.

80 spider feet are now fluffed for the first 10 spiders. Hoping to begin construction tomorrow. If I can remember how to hand-sew...

I had no idea they'd get so massive, but lesson learned. If I see any come up in future, I'll pull them while they're little. Thankfully, they have shallow roots so most of them came up quite easily.

I am excited to start making the spiders now.

I had a very busy day (details can be viewed on my LJ for now, as it won't be imported to DW before Sunday), so very little crafting was done. I added a few decorations to already existing tags that appeared a bit bland for my fancy taste, but nothing else.

Oh, it was great fun! It's so rare that I'd get out of the house for anything else but the obligatory food run (a few craft shops squeezed in-between) that I had the time of my life.

Chores, home improvement projects, ugh.

I finally took some time to iron and pin the first XL pillowcase this morning, so I have been slowly hand sewing in between loads of laundry today.

pale orange lily (love this one)



Red hybrid tea rose which seems to use some colors that my puny human vision cannot detect. It has a shimmer. And smells like damask rose with ripe plum and lemon? I am not sure I can fully explain it. But it's a dark fruity smell with a sharp lemon.

Having the option for scent would be so helpful. I bet I could find out the hybrid just from what it smells like.

It really would come in handy. You could chose roses to order by having a sniff first to see if you liked the scent.

Made a start on circlets today! The glue can dry whilst I do other things, is my plan.

They sure will be! They're my new favourite thing! I think I like that they don't even take that much time to make. It's a lot of glue drying more than hours and hours of sewing.

This surcote is so close to being finished... (even though it looks it in the pic). There's a post on my page, for anyone interested, but I'm pretty happy with it. 3 weeks to go until the event and I MUST FINISH IT!!!

I'm working on a sock. It's cuff down and I am at the decreases for the toe box, just really in finisher's dread at the moment. I only have a few more rows to go (and I am genuinely excited to start on its mate).

I've decided I want to have socks with the same pattern, but different skeins of yarn, so a matching pair of socks doesn't truly match.

That sounds like a brilliantly quirky idea for socks. What colour is the sock you're making now?

It's a self-striping Felci yarn from KnitPicks! The yarn goes from yellow to orange-yellow to orange to pink to purple and back to yellow. It was purchased in either 2021 or 2022. I unfortunately lost the paper it came with, so I have no idea what the marketing name for the yarn is (I would name it "Summer Sunset" if I were in charge of such things).

Well done! I would love to try Nahlbinding some socks, but knitting on the whole terrifies me. Socks don't really need to match anyway. Toddlers especially know that.

I've had a quick glance and you are SOOOOO busy! I'm amazed you have time to breathe! You really are making tremendous progress with everything though, so well done and good luck getting everything ready in time!
