Check-In Post June 9th 2023
Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I also visited another craft shop today. I wanted craft punches, but while they had a great quantity of the stuff, all of them were either angels or flowers or holly leaves - all of which I already have. None of the simple, geometric ones I would need. Ah, well, I can always cut out stuff by hand, but punches would have made things so much easier...

Punches are very useful, if you can get the right shapes, but that's never easy.

Thicker felt is impossible for punches anyway, but it's not always possible to find the thinner felt.

Good luck tomorrow.

Yesterday evening I went to my sister's and hurt my wrist playing with one of the dogs. It's very minor and I didn't even realize until this morning, but I felt like I should take a knitting break just the same.
Instead, I finished up the horrible book for book club I've been avoiding. I worry I'm being too hard on it, but I really do hate it.

Some books simply don't suit certain readers. Other people might enjoy it but that doesn't mean you have to. Hating it is still a valid opinion.

Indeed.

Projects are progressing slowly but surely. Finished crocheting my mindless crop top, now waiting on a wool order before I can start my C2C adventurer mouse rug (also gotta write all the charts into words...)
Have to finish sewing my practice C2C - Miffy together, endless weaving in of ends :/
On the knitting front, my mesh t-shirt is hitting a bit off a wall as I get bored with the repetitive nature of it... but it shall be done!

Good luck with the transcribing of charts and all the sewing up. Weaving in ends is one of the worst parts, along with the actual sewing up. I still have a sweater to knit the neckband and sew up, but I've shoved that aside in favour of more fun projects.
I can be difficult to maintain motivation when working on a repetitive pattern, but determination will prevail, I'm sure. You'll get there.
