Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Actually did a bit of gardening this morning, cutting a lot of the docks down to the ground. Still need to dig roots out where I can, but at least I managed something.


On the crafting front, I cut more yarn for spider legs, and punched out 20 black bases for when I cut out the black bodies. I doubt I'll ger 20 bodies out of the black fabric, but the extra bases will probably get used on some orange bodies I've already got cut.

Hooray for gardening and spiders! The black bases will look nice with the orange bodies, I think :D

They should, although the based aren't visible unless the spider has its legs in the air *grins*

I'm not surprised! I've barely done anything today, yet I still have yesterday's tasks in my bones, as we say in Hungarian. *sigh* At least I've managed to squeeze in a tiny bit of writing - for the first time in days. That's a bit of consolation.

I've started sewing together the cover of the textile book. After having nearly finished the first page, I discovered that I had forgotten to put in the permanent stitches for all the green surfaces. Doing them with so little manouvering space was quite the challenge - not to mention time-consuming. So, my original hope that I'd be finished by Tuesday and could present the completed book to the recipient during choir practice on the samesome evening proved to be too optimistic. Ah, well, there will be other Tuesday evenings before the current school term ends.

Yeah, fortunately I've got a flexible schedule with this project. Still annoying, though.

Well done for managing to fix your mistake in spite of not having much room. Good thing you caught it when you did.

Perhaps. There's no hurry; the book won't be needed before September, I just want it done and out of my hair, so that I can turn my attention (such as it is in these days) to the baby book. That one will need lots of detailed work, and time moves so swiftly, now that I'm getting older.

I meant to start on my next photograph embroidery project today, but things came up, so I've just been working on guinea pigs as time allows. Loop loop loop!

Another Oh I Am So Far Behind With Posts post. Lots of things underway and finished and almost finished, with posts to follow but I also really need to spend every waking moment on a project to publish, so I'll try as I can. Hope you're all well.

I knitted on the shawl in the morning. It's going to need a name soon.

The rest of the day was distracted by the ongoing drama on my front porch. A juvenile crow decided to take up residence there. It's old enough to look like an adult crow and leave the nest, but not actually know how to fly yet. I have no clue how it got there in the first place. It got my cat's attention when it was trying out the flower pots for size (which got my attention). Then it moved on to just hiding under the table. It was fine there until my mother decided "to help" by offering it an alternate hiding spot, after we had agreed to leave it alone. Which caused it to leap off the porch into the planter full of weeds and spider plants. Every crow in the neighborhood had something to say about it all day off and on. Luckily, they also alerted me when the neighbors' cat came looking for it, so I was able to chase it off before it found the little one. By dark, it had found a better hiding spot in the plants.

I love crows, they're among my favourite birds. Hope your youngster will be okay. I need a crow icon.

They are my favorite visitors (most of the time). Me too. He seems to have disappeared as mysteriously as he came.

WE have crows around us, but this is the first year I've had Jackdaws. There's a pair. They and the crows and magpies are such intelligent birds, wonderful to watch.

Err... I'm a bit confused. Is it the shawl that needs a name or the crow?

The shawl. Repeatedly calling it the shawl is getting a bit obnoxious, especially as I will probably be working on it for awhile.
