Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Other than that, there's been writing, and the cutting of lots of yarn for spider legs. I still have two stacks of bodies awaiting the leg yarn, and a third that needs both leg yarn and bases. Still progress is being made and I will hopefully soon be moving on to actually making the twisted cord legs. Forgot to rip any CDs though *sigh*

The twisted cord legs sound cool.

It's a really pretty day. I have laundry hanging out on the clothesline, trying out baking some eggs in muffin tin, and my kabocha squash has sprouted! I planted 5 and 3 came up. I have never grown winter squash before, but we had such a tasty one earlier this month I decided to plant some seeds from it.

Yay for your squash plants! I hope they produce tasty squashes for you later in the year.

The cover of the textile book with the finger puppet animals:
And the monthly baby statistics cards to the very fancy baby book I'm currently working on:
Unfortunately, some idiot at Pinterest decided that revamping the entire upload process would be a good idea - as a result, uploading pins has become ten times as complicated as before, and the pictures are about the size of a stamp. I'm sure there are dozens of cool new facilities to change that, but I have neither the time nor the nerves to experiment. Why couldn't they leave things as they were and worked perfectly?

I am constantly curses things that keep changing on my computer. Every update makes things that were formerly simple take forever >=[

Why do people keep insisting on fixing things that are not broken? I get that updates and changes need to happen sometimes, but so much of it just feels like unnecessary change for the sake of unnecessary change.

It's a free pattern and I've made at least 3 of them. https://www.tincanknits.com/pattern/barley?g=2
I gave away all of my knit hats to my sister who lives in MN when I saw her last month. Now I have an excuse to knit more hats. 😁

Most of it centered around the library and all of the crafting did. Our library has a little craft room and today because of the holiday weekend, they set up a special drop in craft. It was making beach themed jar lights. They supplied jars with lights in the lid, rocks, and seashells. You put the rocks and seashells in the jar and tada, jar light. Mine is a little sad looking and needs some rearranging.
The fourth Friday Fiber group also met today at the library. It went really well. I worked on my shawl. My mom joined us to work on a pillow she's been embroidering. Two new people from the quilter's guild also joined in. (One was crossstitching a pillow and the other was working on some embroidery on a quilt square.) And I have been asked to be in charge next month!
After all that and a couple other things, I took a quick tour of the Friends of the Library book sale. I hadn't intended to get anything, but I got a small stack and my mother bought several storage tubs the books had been stored in before the sale. Three of the books I got were craft books: one on making your own sewing patterns, a how to crochet book from 1949, and a little how to general life skills book, which I guess isn't exactly crafty, but it was in the craft section.
Then after checking on some very fluffy cats, I took a very long nap.

Hope you can rearrange your jar light so you're happier with it.
