Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today got eaten up by chores and writing. Ah well, maybe I'll get outside tomorrow.

The words weren't exactly flowing unfortunately. I got my four Monday double drabbles written but they're not my best work.

Just like BK, I spent my spare time with writing. But that's important, too. And I've even managed to finish a long overdue chapter (after 2 years), so I'm well pleased.

Update on my African flowers banner: I have finished the final round on all of my motifs and 2.5/4 of the solid cream half hexagons, but I ran out of the additional ball of cream yarn I picked up this afternoon late this evening, so I am stalled again. Tomorrow I should be able to finish the remaining 1.5/4 half hexagons at work and then when I'm at home in the evening I can pin them and block them overnight and do all my finishing on Wednesday.

Yes, I'm kicking myself that I didn't get two balls this afternoon for safety! I thought that one would be loads. Ah, more innocent times...

It's pretty chunky yarn, so the yardage is a lot less than what I am used to getting out of 100 grams, so I think that threw me off with my guesstimation.

Chunky yarns are the hardest when it comes to estimating how for they'll go. Always looks like there's more than there is. Double knitting is the opposite, I always think there's less than there is.

I often think I need vastly more sock yarn than I actually do. If I am working with a pattern with an estimated yardage I tend not to go too far wrong, but more freeform stuff is very hit and miss no matter what weight I am working with!

It's better to have too much yarn than not enough though. The worst thing is running out and finding you can't get more of the same dye lot.

Very true! It's much easier to return yarn you didn't use than it is to hunt down a ball with the right dye lot after the fact.

Not that I'm in the habit of returning yarn, which is why I've got so much... I've used some up making arm warmers, and I'm sure I'll find uses for the rest eventually.

Haha, come to think of it I'm not sure I have ever returned extra balls of unused yarn either 😂
