Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No crafting again, I was out in the garden for a couple of hours. It was supposed to be warmer than yesterday but instead it was overcast all day.


Didn't get far with the weeding I'd intended to do, the ground is too wet and mostly clay, thick and sticky. Couldn't get the soil off the weed roots, so I went back to where I'd been working yesterday and finished clearing what I could from around the euphorbia forest on what used to be lawn. The grass died long ago because that area was under the Juniper tree until it was removed last year. I left the euphorbias when they started popping up because they're weird and fun. It looked like my garden had sprouted a miniature wind farm.

Quite a lot really, just not what I was hoping to do. More rain is forecast, which isn't going to help matters.

The euphorbias are much bigger now and no longer look like mini wind turbines, but they're still fascinating. I've pulled a few weedy, unhealthy ones up, but most are almost a foot tall now.

They are weird plants, almost a foot tall now and some have 'flowers' forming - bracts really, I think. They've very sturdy. The resemblance to wind turbines faded as the got bigger. They almost look alien.

You're making quite a bit of gardening progress. Sorry the weather was not more cooperative. Your euphorbia forest sounds delightful.

I've only done one row on the rainbow scarf thus far but I'm going to be working on it for the rest of the evening. Hopefully getting the third skein joined in tonight!

I managed to finish the baby books. They didn't quite turn out the way I planned them, but they look good enough to be given away. No more journals for me for a while. I'm quite fed up.

No pics from the inside of the journals, unfortunately. I should have taken photos of the individual pages but forgot it, and now they are bound in too tightly for that. Forcing the books open wide enough to take photos would ruin them. But since I'm not overly proud of them, I can live without any visual reminder, I think.

They look nice! But you do need a break from that sort. Too tight a deadline for that many makes them less fun.

I have been gardening off and on - had my brother chop back the forsythia while I did other stuff. I have 7 baby forsythia potted up that were growing underneath now, finished prepping the north flowerbed for the rose shipping on Monday, drug the plant pots around on the south side of the house considering where I want to put things.

I may work on a simple project or I might just read the rest of the day. It's 3pm and I'm pooped.

I planned on doing absolutely nothing today as I feel awful and while my back is better than yesterday, it's still bad, and we don't tend to do anything for Easter.

I even cancelled crafting with Lynn tomorrow just for some more recovery time.

It was not all doom and gloom, my father, who has never done a thing for Easter in his life (or at least the portion of it I've been alive), out of nowhere, left a solid dark chocolate bunny on my front porch while I was sleeping.

And I did end up knitting a bit as a distraction, after dinner.
