Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The first half of the neck shaping is done!


I experimented today by knitting and writing at the same time, knitting while considering phrasing and dialogue, then typing that bit and going back to knitting while figuring out the next bit. It worked reasonably well, I didn't mess up my knitting and it gave me something to do while thinking. Not sure how often I'll do it, but at least I know it can be done.

I used to read and knit, but surprisingly that's harder when reading off a computer screen than it is with a book. =/

It's not so difficult, I just knitted while I was thinking, then stopped knitting to type, then went back to knitting and thought some more =)

Well, I wasn't really doing both at the same time, it was more a case of switching between them, thinking while I knitted, then typing for a bit, then thinking about what should happen next while I knitted a bit more. It was actually quite relaxing.

It was quite relaxing! Not sure I'll do it again while shaping the neck, but when I'm knitting straight there shouldn't be a problem.

I finished a weaving project! I wasn't happy with parts of what I had already done, so I removed that and that made me see how I wanted the rest of it to go :)

I got as far as putting yarn in my project basket. Next I'm going outside to scrub some old planters, as I'm getting a load of dirt tomorrow.

Thanks for the well wishes yesterday ♥ Today wasn't much better but we're getting through it. I got a few more rows done on the rainbow scarf and the end of the second skein is in sight, so I should be able to finish the scarf before its recipient comes to visit for sure.

Craft-less day again. I've laid out the papers for the last baby book but then got swallowed by the kitchen, and when I was done there I was just too exhausted. So I took a nap instead.

Feeling mildly better today. I'm not sick anymore, I'm just tried. I was going to try to catch up on a couple things after the weekly shopping this morning, but I'm having some trouble convincing myself to get off the couch.

I have gotten in some knitting and I'm about halfway through the not-a-baby-blanket. Assuming I can figure out what my cat wants, I'm probably going to find a movie to put on and do some more knitting. badly_knitted suggested making four of these extra little ones and sewing them together and I like that idea and I might actually have enough of this yarn to do it.

Resting on the couch sounds like an excellent idea, the shopping was enough energy expenditure for you. Relax, knit, and enjoy whatever you watch.

Don't press it if you're not feeling well. Resting is more important in such times - and crafting will wait patiently until you have enough energy again.

You are so very right. Though they are starting to look at me with sad puppy faces. But I shall be strong and not give into the urge to overdo it.
