Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I have part of one sleeve left to do on a sweater for my new baby cousin. And I found my missing double-pointed needle, so that I have five again now. But it was going fine with four, and I actually kind of prefer four, because it means you have to change needles less often, so I don't know if I'll use the one I found after all. (It was, inevitably, in the bottom of my other bag.)
I'm thinking about using a loop of ribbon to make a tag with his name on it. Fortunately his name is very short. But I can't decide whether I should try to embroider it or just find ribbon I can Sharpie on.
I put knitting on hold for a while because I was travelling, so I brought my tiny cross-stitch project instead. The woman I sat next to on the plane complimented my cross-stitch. Since what I'm doing is making tiny fifteen-pixel TARDISes over and over on a piece of Aida cloth that is now getting fairly rumpled and has definitely been tea-stained (it'll wash out), I was pleasantly surprised that she thought it was nice rather than the work of a madwoman. (The idea is to make them into patches and possibly sell or otherwise distribute them. This is a test batch so I probably won't sell them for money. I might give them to people at the local Who-con in August if anyone wants them.)

I've never tried knitting in the round with five needles, my sets of double pointed needles are all in fours, but I can imagine an extra one would make things annoyingly fiddly. Four is bad enough! Sounds like you'll soon be finished with the baby sweater.
Tagwise, a Sharpie might work best, although the writing would eventually fade through washing. Embroidering on ribbon and getting it to look right... Tricky. Mind you, if I tried something like that just writing, it would be unreadable *grins* My handwriting is so bad!
I love your mini TARDIS patch idea! They sound adorably cute. Any chance of a picture?

Embroidering the name tag would be so lovely but I wouldn't fault you for taking the easier option. It sounds fiddly!
The cross stitch project sounds adorable.

This time I'm determined to do the crochet project. I tried to do a swatch today for about 45 minutes, but barely got anywhere. I have decided I hate my hook. It's a Susan Bates Tunisian hook, and those aren't inline. Plus the cord is pretty stiff. I much prefer inline hooks, and so I have just ordered a new hook from Webs. This one is interchangeable, so I had to order a cord too but the price was very reasonable, and I like how pointy the hook looks (not my pointiest hooks but definitely not a smooth head like other Tunisian hooks).
That's it for me today. I'm rather tired so will probably not do any more crafting today.
