Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

10 rows is HEAPS of progress!

I had a very busy day but I did some crafting while the physiotherapist lady was working on Mum. Not much, just producing five identical kitty sofas in a frankly alarming shade of pink. But that's Hello Kitty for you. Lots and lots of pink.
Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 09:11 pm (UTC)
The pink sounds appropriate, even if a bit much!
Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 10:14 pm (UTC)
Personally, I'm not into pink, but in this context it's mandatory, I'm afraid.

I've toned down the neon colours a bit, but the things are still bright enough. *g*

According to their Grandma, at least the two 3-year-old are full in their pink and frilly and glitter phase, so I'm cautiously optimistic. *g*

I once visited the Hello Kitty store in Ho Chi Minh City (to buy a present for my friends' kids) and Oh My GAWSH the pink. (Also the white. Also the glitter. WHEW.)

But five sofas is great!

Let's hope that five different little girls in the respective ages between two and seven will be happy with their booklets. *g*

"frankly alarming shade of pink" should be an official color name

I finished my cross stitch today:

Thank you very much :) Yes, I was surprised at how fast I did it!
Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 10:12 pm (UTC)
That is BEAUTIFUL. Wow.

What's the plan for it? (I don't think I've seen this before, so excuse me if you've been patiently explaining your plans all through the process.)
Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 10:25 pm (UTC)
Thank you very much! I may eventually get round to hanging it up - I'd certainly like to.

Finished backings for the last of the two quilts that have batting!

Now I just have to find batting for two more quilts! I think I'll go to the local big-habadashery store and buy it; I would have preferred to buy a roll from a small quilt shop, but if I do this now, then NEARLY ALL MY QUILT TOPS ARE BEING QUILTED!

I think you've lost me during the last sentence; but again, I'm very tired and my higher brain functions are... whacky at best. Still, you've made impressive progress.
Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 10:27 pm (UTC)
That's really great progress :)

Give them away to friends and family.

Knocked out a quick coaster for a Nerdopolis challenge. The challenge is "Under the Microscope", so I did a Candy Swirl Coaster in two different colors of red, and said it was flat, red and round like a red blood cell as seen under a microscope.

The yarn I ordered from Colourmart has made it to US customs in the biggest city near me, hurray! Shouldn't be much longer.

Tomorrow I stop at a craft store to pick up some anti-pilling acrylic yarn for a stuffed toy of Clifford, the Big Red Dog. I'm making it at mom's request to give to a friend of hers who's having a baby. I'm just glad it's not a baby blanket this time! Clifford should go much faster.

Yeah, the coasters ARE fun. This was my 12th Ravelry project for them, and in some of the projects I made several coasters, so I have a ton of them now, haha. But they work great for the "I don't know what else to make" kind of themes. It helps that Nerdopolis has no minimum time requirement so they don't care if you make something small (they understand that people have different restrictions on their time and might not be able to make bigger projects).

Very nice all around! The coaster is a very creative take on the prompt.

Hoping my internet holds out long enough to post this.

I've been resting my hands the last couple days, mostly. They are still a tiny bit sore from knitting the bag strap.

Today was just a generally bad day overall, but I made a chocolate pie for pie day and wrote a very last minute drabble for Squidgiepdx' Pi Day Drabble-ish-or-more-a-thon and Story_Works' Pi Day Flash Challenge here on DW. To my personal amazement, I also got it posted to AO3 before midnight here, though I am pretty sure I will need to change up the tags a little.

Yesterday, Lynn and I met for the first time in 2or 3 weeks. I made her chocolate sugar cookies. We worked on another of her subscription box card kits - bright pink, green, and black and white birthday cards. They were fiddly and not to Lynn's liking, but we made it through.

I also made more repairs and tweaks to the altered book. I'm starting to get frustrated with how slow it's going.

Be careful not to over-extend your hands before they've completely recovered! What you've listed above won't qualify as "resting", you know. Congratulations to writing and posting the drabble in time, BTW.
