Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Changed my mind and decided to knit the sleeves first, so I did the ribbing for the first sleeve while watching the Dancing on Ice semi-final. Even did the increase row =)

I made a start, got to set the pattern tomorrow and that's where it'll get complicated because of the increases at the sleeve edges... Eeep!

Now it gets interesting, trying to increase every few rows without messing up the pattern...

And I'll be slowing right down again as I try not to mess up with the pattern while increasing every few rows. From 57 stitches I have to get up to 109...

A sample of my Tunisian crochet knit stitch - you build on the long hook and work them off.



It is a beautiful day and I spent some time outside. Worked a little harder than I should have so am taking it easy with an open window and my project.

I did some crafting, despite having a stressful day. Not because I'd actually feel like it - I would have preferred a lengthy nap - but because the deadline is coming closer ominously and I still have a lot of work to do on those three baby books. At least now all page bases are finished. Next up: the binding (shudders) and embellishments. Many, many embellishments and very little time to make them.

picowrimo month is detrimental to crafting; so are close deadlines. *sigh*

Juggling writing and crafting is never easy, I know that from experience.

I’ve started to sew together the squares of the blanket I’m knitting! Only two squares left to knit, but I wasn’t feeling it over the weekend so I’ve been stitching instead and now the blanket is in two large pieces!

That is important work, too - and can serve as inspiration for knitting the last two squares. Good luck!

You will, they're all that's keeping you from having a finished blanket and the sooner you knit them the sooner you can snuggle under it.

That you did another part of the project is great. When you get the other two squares done it will be basically finished.

Woohoo! Once those that squares are complete and stitched into place you can turn your two large blankets into one huge blanket!

Might do another binding today. Hopefully the binding tape is long enough!

The trouble with any craft is that there are always some bits that are less fun. Hope your binding tape doesn't run out!

I did a photo collage on my own journal this morning, so easy enough to drop it here--I'm almost done with the body of the jumper (then on to the sleeves!), I finished one bobbin for the spinning (the other bobbin is about 2/3 complete, then on to plying!), and also some bonus gardening :)
