Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Big knitting day, 38 rows! I've finished the first ball of yarn so I'm going to start the front tomorrow. The back isn't finished, but I only have 5 balls so I've got to be careful, I don't want to run out before I have all the pieces knitted.

That is a lot! I haven't been in for a few days, what color is this one?

It's quite a bright cobalt blue, like a summer sky on a hot day. Very complicated lace and moss stitch diamond pattern though, with a 48 row repeat >.< I kept making mistakes at the start so progress has been slower than I was hoping for.

Wow, that's a lot of knitting! Are you trying to finish before you'd run out of wool? *g*

In a way, yes. Not playing yarn chicken, but I'll need to get the sleeves knitted before I finish the front and back otherwise I could end up with sleeves shorter than I'm comfortable with. I don't mind if the body is a few inches shorter than I usually make, but I have longer than average arms and I cannot bear sleeves that don't cover my wrists.

With me, it's the other way round. I'm not exactly thin, so the clothes that are large enough for me to be comfortable, usually have way too long sleeves. I always have to roll them up to the middle of my forearms when I'm cooking or baking, or else they'd be in the way. Very annoying!

I'm skinny as a twig due to health issues. I have to roll sleeves up for preparing food, washing dishes etc., but other than that, if I'm wearing long sleeves I want them to fit. I really loathe those three-quarter length sleeves that seem to be so popular on a lot of women's clothes. So uncomfortable. I get cold if my arms aren't properly covered.

To be fair, I have more time for knitting on a Saturday, I don't have to fit it in during a one-hour TV show so I stuck in a DVD and had two hours of knitting.

The redone baby book page looks well enough - save for the fact that I didn't find exactly the same shade of pale yellow for the page bases, so the twin pages didn't turn out exactly identical. They still look good enough, but it annoys me. Ah, well, I'll simply state that they are fraternal twins, not identical ones. What else can I say to save face?

Tomorrow I'll try to make the same twin pages for Baby Book #3. Let's hope I won't mess up the measurements and/or the folding again; that would be beyond annoying. Of course, not having any undisturbed time for such tasks doesn't help. *sigh*

Oh, and after having behaved all evening, LJ is acting up again!

That it doesn't match is annoying! Better luck for the next set. I had to start my project today when I knew no one would bother me for a little while, because I haven't done this type of crochet in a while.

There's no such thing as unbothered time when you're taking care of an elderly parent. Don't misunderstand me, I hope I'll be able to do so for many years yet, it just has a detrimental effect on purely me-time.

When I first read the expression "fraternal twins" I was very confused (I'm not a native speaker). It took me time to figure out what it means.

Starting to get caught up around the house from the post-sickness slump. Started to make a pouch for my Tunisian crochet hooks --- with Tunisian of course. I was going to do a fancy stitch, but it's been too long since I did this style, so backed off to a simple stitch. Just as well, my tension is terrible.

I've done 6 rows and it's bright yellow. Plan is to just make a rectangle, fold and sew it up, add a couple buttons.

Finished another binding. Made up some backings.

(Discovered the backings were too short. Cursed a lot internally. Sewed together strips to make them long enough again. Now to sew them together today...)

Gah, how annoying! It seems to be a bad crafting luck week for several of us.

I have been crafting quite a bit today! Did some crochet, and I'm making progress on Jupiter on my solar system project. SOME progress, I guess. It's kind of a big planet, and I could probably have chosen a faster stitch, heh.

Sounds like a pretty good crafting day!

Ah, but would a faster stitch have given the effect you want for Jupiter? It's a dramatic planet, a bit of a diva, it wants to be seen and admired ;)

I'm a little worried about Saturn and getting the rings right. I had a plan to do it just as if you were looking down on it, so it's just a bunch of circles instead of getting the arc around the plane right if you did it the usual way, but I'm not sure if it'll look okay.

Mm, Saturn's rings will definitely be tricky. I suggest looking at a lot of pictures taken from different angles to see which might be the easiest to do.

Sounds complicated, but if you figure out the right way to do it, Saturn will offer a spectacular sight.

Getting ready for a big day of taking photos which meant making more flower crowns- sunflowers, cornflowers and daisies. Backdrops almost all ironed and outfits planned. On top of that, emergency trip to vet for kitty who isn't better yet. It's been a stressful week, and she's not better yet. In other news, vets are expensive.
