Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've knitted the first 3 pattern rows of the sweater and intend to do some more knitting while I watch TV in a bit. Slightly annoyed that I've only got the ribbing and three rows done before finding a join in the yarn. That does not bode well *pouts*

Yeah, and annoyances continued. I gained a stitch, had to undo a couple of rows, and this pattern is harder than it looks. I only added another 9 rows! It's a 48 row pattern repeat as well, so I'm not going to get it memorised anytime soon o_O

I'm sure it will look lovely when it's finished, even though it gives you hassle making it.

Having spent the morning in the bank and at the supermarket/craft shops, respectively, left me with fairly little time for actual crafting. Nonetheless, I managed to finish the first one of the three identical baby book pages, with all the bells and whistles, so I'm content. Besides, the trip to the craft shops resulted some amazingly beautiful paper pads (with hot foil, too), which I absolutely didn't need at the moment but couldn't resist. Mum liked them, too, so I got the nod afterwards. ;))

Well, if I can buy yarn when I already have tons, why shouldn't you buy paper?

I have bought so many random items over the years and I never seem to get around to using them.

But you know if you hadn't bought the paper pads now, when you wanted them they wouldn't have been available.

Which is why I bought them. Actually, I've displayed amazing self-restraint: I could have bought at least four times as many of them, all with different patterns. *g*

Here, for anyone not on my flist, is how my current cross stitch of Dearle's Golden Lilies is looking:

Such a beautiful design, although the green background must be a bit difficult for stitching on. You've worked on darker colours though, your experience shows.

It is lovely. The worst is there are individual dark green stitches which I have to feel for to know whether I've done them.
