Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've sewn up the neckband and shoulder seam of the plum sweater, and I've folded the neckband over and stitched the edge down. Folded neckbands are so much more comfortable than just ribbing a few rows and casting off, but they're time-consuming and fiddly, and you really have to be careful you keep the stitching loose so there's plenty of give, otherwise your head won't fit through.

That does sound like a much better neck, even if extra work.

It's very cosy, and I don't have to worry about the cast-off edge going saggy with wear and washing.

I learned that early in my knitting career when I made myself a sweater that wouldn't go over my head =(

I've started the first of a pair of mittens. Making it up as I go along.

Today has mostly been chores, chores, chores. It is very cold and windy. I have chicken chili in the crockpot at least.

The chili should help to warm you, and so will the mittens once they're made. What colour is this pair?

Today was a no crafting day. Overnight, our fluffy rain turned into real snow, but the roads were fairly clear, so we went ahead and did our weekly shopping first thing. It was also discount day at the discount grocery, so all the more reason to go. Unfortunately, the power went out while we were shopping. The power came back on a couple hours after we got home and it was still early, but it kind of killed the day.

We did do other things, like cautiously do chores we needed done in case the power went back out, turn last night's pot roast into stew, move and cover plants, etc. But no crafting.

Snow has a way of disrupting other plans. I'm glad you still managed the shopping on discount day. I hope your plants survive the weather. Perhaps you'll get some crafting done today.

It really does! We definitely lucked out. The registers and card readers only work for a few minutes after the power goes out and the store wasn't very busy due to the weather.

Thanks! We're keeping them covered for now.

And crafting energy has definitely come back.
