Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

That is great. So close.

The end is in sight. Isn't that a good feeling?

So close to the end!

I finished inventory on my crochet hooks (smallest is 0.75mm) and poked around at stitch patterns. I'm going to make a couple simple pouches to hold the Tunisian hooks, they've just been loose in the bottom of the craft toolbox for ages.

Otherwise it's laundry day here. Over the worst of the cold, can stand without being dizzy!

Tunisian are long (most of mine are 9 or 14 inches). You build stitches on the long hook and then work them off. So it's like a cross of knitting and crochet.

I'm going to make the pouches in Tunisian. Haven't made something in that for a while.

Oh, it is good that you're feeling better!

Organizing your craft tools is always good; it saves you a great deal of time during work.

Cleaning and organizing my toolbox is my "craft spring cleaning" task.

That sounds like a great idea!

Congrats on being able to stand without being dizzy. Being sick sucks.

I did a tiny bit of crafting; "only" 18 pages left before all 3 baby books are finished. Plus the binding. And some embellishments (read: lots of those). Ah, well, I still have two months to go. Even though one of them will also be a picowrimo session, assuming any of the usual crowd will be interested.

Good though, I think that's four more than the last time I checked in.

It's possible. I'm not quite sure myself, TBH. The days seem to flow into one another, I can hardly keep tab on which day of the week it is. Save for Tuesday, of course, because that means choir practice. Yay!
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 04:56 pm (UTC)
I know. I just wouldn't mind a bit *more* progress. ;))
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 08:13 am (UTC)
You're doing great
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 04:57 pm (UTC)
"Great" is something else I'm afraid. But I'm doing as much as I can.

I have a "frocktails" event this Saturday night in another city/town and am taking Friday off to enjoy being around. Presently trying to decide if I should make a toile for a dress from the linen I received with it, or try to find some actual calico... Do I take a risk on something that may or may not suit/fit me?

Also, I tend to wear stuff around the house without a bra, so whether it's comfy to wear just as a 'lounging robe' is a big consideration for me.

If it's soft enough or can be after a couple washes I would give it a try.
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 08:17 am (UTC)
That is a tough decision. (Take the risk!)

Good luck!

It's already so pretty

That is so cool, I love it already.

I'm not sure where today went.

I did do some "stitch and stream," actually I still am, but my internet is being wonky so I thought I would check in while I could. I've added about 10 rows to the scarf so far and I have officially hit the end of the "merry magenta" yarn, so no more stripes. I'm continuing on with just the green as planned. It's a variegated yarn, but the color transition is very slow. I've knitting probably about 4 inches of scarf with it so far and there is no sign of it getting darker anytime soon, but it looks pretty, so I'm still happy with it.

Thanks x2
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 02:28 pm (UTC)
Magenta and green sound good together. Sounds like you're getting a good amount done.
Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 08:52 am (UTC)
Thanks. I've gotten pretty close to the end. It's nice it worked out this way. The scarf will sorta match the bag that's going with it now.

Wonky internet is so annoying! I wonder how we managed without it back in the stone age when I was young, though.
Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 08:49 am (UTC)
It really is!

There are a few younglings I have to explain such things to on a regular basis. I am fairly certain one of them doesn't believe me about phone booths.

Very much so
