Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

Last night I managed 22 pattern rows on the second sleeve so today I added another 30 rows, putting me 14 rows into the second pattern repeat. That's pretty good progress, especially considering how fiddly it is incorporating the increase stitches into the pattern every 4 rows.

I battled the bank this morning, which means my crafting time was swallowed up with unnecessary and in the end useless things. Well, I selected some white paper for the page bases, but that was all.

I've been stress-crocheting since I got off work and 1) I've made surprisingly little progress for that amount of time and 2) celli, quit before your hands fall off.

*hugs* I hope the crochet at least lowered your stress levels even if progress wasn't what you'd hoped for.

I was in that state the other night while knitting. Definitely time to stop when your hands start to feel like that. Probably best to stop before reaching that point really.

I definitely support #2. Crafting is supposed to be relaxing, and over-extending your hands can prove a serious disadvantage. (My right thumb could tell you that.)

Last week I managed to find the time to finish the scratch art picture that I was doing on the previous Sunday. On Sunday I sat down and did some 'painting' for an hour while some of the washing ran - it's a paint by numbers. I spared twenty minutes to work on it yesterday as well while dinner was in the oven. It's supposed to be something like the Northern Lights but only time will tell - I saw two finished versions on Amazon - one was clearly done by someone who was artistic and looked amazing - something tells me the other one was by someone with my level of skill and it didn't look so good. I'm not worried, it's a first for me and when I'm working on it, I'm switching off a bit - just me, the painting and an audio book for a little while - I can't be stressing about everything else.

I did a paint by numbers last year and was really pleased with the result and I'm not an artist. I think the key is to take time over it.

Glad you found the time to get back to your scratch art, and good luck with your paint by numbers! I haven't done one of those in years, but they're fun and relaxing to do, and the picture sounds lovely.

Today's craft session with my friend went better than the last couple weeks. She was in high spirits and had a craft project she wanted to work on besides the subscription boxes - collages. I also got her to eat something! A couple of the things she didn't remember were mildly alarming, but overall she was doing better than she has been.

Next week, she'd like us to start working on altered books, no particular theme. I worry I'm not going to find ephemera that matches something I'd like to do, but I want to encourage any projects she comes up with. And I like doing altered books.

my projects are mostly on hold with a new kitty in the home. she had a bladder infection before adoption so I'm finishing her course of antibiotics and it is a bit stressful.
I'm hoping to continue a sweater wip after this eases up a bit :,)
