Yesterday, despite some mishaps, I managed a massive 58 rows on the sleeve. So far today I've added another 10 and I'm about to stick a DVD on and knit some more. The aim is to finish this sleeve tonight, if I can...

I've been working on the small baby diary booklets, which was fun, but very, very detailed work. I'm not quite done yet, but considering how little time I had for crafting, I'm satisfied with my progress. Tomorrow is another day.

It's amigurumi. It is a doll wearing a fly costume. I finished a sleeve and two antennae.

It's an amigurumi doll, and it is dressed up as a fly. Yesterday, I made an arm, two antennae, and an eye. I need to make another eye, the wings, the body, the legs, and put it all together.

I have done a little stitching and a TON of crocheting today! I was watching a TV show I'd seen before and then chatting with a friend. It doesn't feel like that much done, I mean, I'm still very new so I'm very slow. But it's progress!!

Yay for progress! Watching something you've seen before really helps when you're crafting. You don't have to stare at the TV screen all the time.

More stitch and stream today, I watched some anime and this week's Svengoolie was a showing of Killer Klowns from Outer Space, while I started working on the body of the baby blanket. I am 13 rows in and it's finally starting to actually look like a blanket.

The color is called onyx. It's part of Red Heart's gemstone line. All of them have two different variegated yarns twisted together in one strand. (I hope I got all those words right.) In this one, both colors are actually variegated white to black, but going in opposite directions and fading at different rates, so the same shades of grey never quite meet.

In the store, I thought it was white to black and the other was shades of blue. Ah, lighting.

I've made a few other projects with the amethyst color, it's shades of grey twisted with shades of purple.

Both sound gorgeous! I love variegated yarns anyway. Artificial lighting does screw with the ability to correctly tell what colour something is though, and somehow it's worse in shops. (I love anything gemstone colours).

The whole line is beautiful and they're so soft. I love having an excuse to use it.

I sometimes wonder if the lighting in stores is extra screwy on purpose, but I don't see the profit of it because it's not like they make it more flattering.

If I can't see something properly I ask if I can take it over to the door or window to look at it in natural light.

That is a very good idea
