Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

You seem to have a lot of bad luck with this one. *is symptathetic*

I wish you better luck with the rest. And give your poor hands a break before you damage them. :)

You've got a deadline for this?

Sorry the sleeves have been giving you such issues.

I had to go to the Savoy park shopping mall today - and fell victim to my paper love again. Remember, I said yesterday that I'd like to use up some of my stored papers before buying new ones? Well... it didn't happen, obviously. You won't even want to know the indecent amount I spent on craft papers - some with hotfoil, some without - but they were so beautiful! And imagine how much I could have spent, had I bought one of each collection available! But at least I worked up *some* self-discipline in the end...

No actual crafting was done as I took a nap afterwards - and it lasted nearly two hours. Tomorrow. There's always tomorrow.

Oh, definitely! I selected the papers with that particular thought on my mind.

Ah, the siren song of paper is always strong

Oh, YESSSS! I know I already have more than what I'd probably ever use up, but they are just so PRETTY...

As someone who just bought yet another new 12x12 paper storage box from the thrift store, I understand. We don't even have a store that sells craft paper anymore and it still keeps multiplying.

I did some stitch and streaming today. I watched a bunch of random anime episodes trying to decide what to watch and I'm not sure how many rows I added to the scarf, probably about 10, but I have also realized I am not going to have enough of the yarn I'm using to finish, it'll be close, but not quite. It's a mystery yarn from the thrift store, so there is no hope of matching it - it looked like a full skein, was sold as a full skein, and would have been enough if it had been. The person I am making the scarf for is also getting a bag, and I have extra of that yarn - an ombre green that goes from almost white to dark green. So what I think I am going to do is start working the green in now, making stripes with what's left of the pink and green until the pink runs out, then finish with green and tell her it's watermelon inspired. She likes watermelon and it will go with her bag.

While I thought on that, I did the border of the baby blanket. It's not the yarn I wanted to use for it, but after waiting for almost 2 months for the yarn I wanted to use to be in stock, this was the next best choice. I do like the yarn, I'm just not sure how I am going to like it as a baby blanket. It's good practice regardless.

Thanks!

Crafting is full of compromises. It seems to me that we can never find just the paper/felt/yarn/whatever we truly need. Or want to. *sigh*

Isn't that the truth?

The extra kicker here is that the yarn I was trying to get was on discount last month and they still never got any in.
