Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

10 rows knitted on the first sleeve so far. Had to re-do the first row because I messed up but I got it right second try. Now I'm going to see how much more I can knit this evening.

Thanks. I managed 38 rows (one full pattern) in the end, but I messed up at one point, realised I'd twisted my cable two rows further up than I should have, so I had to undo almost 7 rows one stitch at a time because the pattern is quite complex, the re-do it all.

You'd think. But I have two lists of numbers, one for cable rows and one for increase rows, which only coincide occasionally. I managed to mistake where I'd got to and twisted the cable on the wrong row, didn't realise until several rows later so I had to unpick several rows stitch by stitch, then re-do them. My hands have had it.

"coincide occasionally" made me do the slightly horrified chuckle. At least crochet can just rip back.

It's because the cables are every 8 rows, but I set the increases alternating between 4 and 6 rows, so really I only have myself to blame o_O I prefer to increase on right side rows when the pattern is as complex as this one.

Well, as you've probably seen by now, progress has not been too smooth so far. I did manage a full 38 rows in the end, but not without tedious unpicking and re-doing. Hopefully I won't make the same mistakes on the second sleeve!

We had cleaning day. And now I'm dead. 'nuff said.

A tiny bit of crafting was done in the afternoon, but barely worth mentioning. I've done the inside of the front cover of Baby Book #1. It didn't quite turn out how I'd have liked it, but it will do. I'm not up to anything else today.

I hate cleaning so very much! It is so pointless! It eats all your time, and two days later the results are gone.

It was the sheer necessity to move forward that made me do it. Three baby books in as many months is a tight schedule; and I have the Hello Kitty booklets on my to-do list as well!

Fairly normal for me. I'm so oddly wired that I can't do just *one* thing at a time, be it baking, crafting or writing... all the things I enjoy. ;)

10 more rows on the slipper body and I'm almost done - gonna keep going for a bit but will most likely finish the body rows tomorrow.

Yesterday afternoon I went to John's for an hour and pulled staples out of cedar shingles to be mulched. Turns out an hour is 3 of my garden cart loads. His witch hazel is blooming, that's interesting to see when even the spring bulbs aren't peeking up.


I finished the hat I've been making and added a pocket to the cardigan. Today I've also been working on cleaning "new to us" drawer pulls and cleaning the kitchen cabinet doors. I should be able to put them back up soon (were still wet and I turned a fan on them).

Excellent progress on all fronts. Have you worn your new hat yet? What colour is it?

Pretty witch hazel! Now I'm wondering if the winter flowering jasmine flowered this year... I haven't been down the far end of the garden for weeks, and I can't see it from the house. There's a shed in the way.

The hat is shaded pinks - I haven't needed it because then it was 70F! I'm thinking of making a second and maybe some mittens to round out the winter.
