Check-In Post January 30th 2023

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I worked a bit on the title page of the Hello Kitty booklets: started making the entrance doors and the windows of the "house". Very finicky work; it's a good thing that I don't have an actual deadline for these things. I do have one for the baby book, though, so I should focus on that one instead. But inspiration comes and goes as it wants.

A trap into which I always walk with my eyes wide open. *g*

I feel the same - oh, deadline, but ooh, fun!

And it's easy to guess which one comes out as the winner.

Hello Kitty booklets?

How is a deadline supposed to compete with Hello Kitty? It's not a fair fight.

And no, deadlines won't stand a chance.

It's been a rough day (week) (month) at work, so I've been "productively stabbing" some more and the background for my current piece is almost done! Next unfortunately is the stitch I've been avoiding this whole time (turkey rug stitch) so I guess I gottaaaaaa. Sigh.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could simply avoid the unpleasant parts?

The productive stabbing sounds like it's been productive. Hopefully, it has also been stress relieving.

Good luck!

I've had a rough couple of days. I knit on my scarf in the dr office waiting room today.

I have quite a bit of mending to do but I'm super tired. I'm going to try to do some of that later.

Hope the knitting helped make the time better.

It was go to my friend's for crafting day. She seemed to be doing better than last week. I hope that is the continuing trend. She set things out to make Valentine's again, but this time she actually made some too and remembered that we had done them last week too, so that's a win. Before I left, we went through her unopened card making subscription boxes to pick one out for next week. Hopefully, we will do that and not a third week of Valentines.

No knitting today (so far), but I did remember to do my "month of knitting" post on Instagram. 5 months, so many scarves...

Doing something else than Valentines would be a welcome change indeed. Too much of the same thing can become tedious (says she who's working on five semi-identical booklets at the same time).

Yes, Valentine's aren't really my thing to start with and I have already made 14 different designs from the same box of supplies over the last two weeks (and spent about 8 hours in total pondering them). I'm not sure what I would do if I had to spend another 2-5 hours with them. (Though I do enjoy making sets, it's a bit different.)

She actually made cards this time and she seemed to enjoy herself though, and that is mostly what matters.
