Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

40 rows on the arm warmers while watching Dancing on Ice! Just need to cast off now, but not tonight.


Trouble is, what am I going to knit next week while Dancing on Ice is on?

I've made very good progress on the crafting front. Three of the four double pages of the quiet book are completely finished, and I only have to sew along the last quarter of the remaining one. Of course, that one is the hardest, including several layers of hard felt and stuff. I didn't even start counting how many times I had to undo and redo certain stretches. There were many, many occasions. But when everything goes well, I'll finish it tomorrow, and then can move on to the book spine and inner binding. Which is a tedious thing in itself, but basically the final task. Silver lining and all that...

Been a few days since I last checked in here. I am slowly working on the edging on my blanket. I think I have two sides done so far (hard to tell due to shape of blanket, and the fact that it's been crumbled in my lap as I work on it.) Gonna sit down and work on it some more. I want to finish it by Wednesday so I can take it to Stitch Club on Thursday.

When I get bored of the blanket (the edging is very tedious to do!) I've been working on my crocheted hoodie. About halfway done with the hood, which is the second part after the kangaroo pocket. The pocket itself is about 75% done, so maybe I'll finish that today too.

I'm also cooking dinner tonight, to give mom a break. I am making this, but smoked sausage instead of kielbasa:

I managed a little work on my dolphin tapestry but it's awkward to manage with my shoulder still causing problems. I'm thinking of starting another cross-stitch so maybe I'll sort the threads before bed this evening.

Only seen half the contestants actually skate so far, but my money's on Nile Wilson. He was amazing!

I agree - he was amazing. I have to say there are a couple of the skaters that I like more or less than others. Nile is definitely going to be a favourite though based on current performance and his attitude.

A small cross stitch would probably be easier than a massive tapestry with your shoulder problems. Are you getting any help with it now? I know you said your doctor wasn't being helpful.

I'm seeing a physio - my next appointment is 7.30 tomorrow morning. Hopefully things will start to look up soon.

I do try to leave my personal likes and dislikes out of it and focus on the skating and performing ability, but I don't always succeed. Sometimes certain contestants just annoy me, lol.

Nile could go all the way, and I think maybe Siva could also be one to watch.

Oh boy, that's such an early appointment! I've ben complaining about having to get up just before 8am for the past week to take my antibiotics. Goodness knows how early you have to surface to be awake enough for a physio appointment at 7.30! I couldn't do it.

If I go for that time as much as I hate the early start, it means I can make it to work on time.

Being careful with the shoulder is a sensible idea. I hope you'll recover fully and will be able to finish the dolphin tapestry eventually.

Hair buns tutorial now up. Did I put a link already? I can't remember. Anyway, it's now on the website AND in my journal. I tried to do a cut because the post is so long but couldn't get it to work here (used to work in LJ) so I back dated the post so it won't ruin everyone's feeds.
