Intro darkcedars
Hello!
I learned to crochet as a small child. I'm glad to find some more crafting societies, as I will no longer be using Ravelry due to accessibility problems. I decided to use a Dreamwidth blog to track my projects going forward. The good thing about leaving a website I've relied on for so long is I've joined more groups in the last couple months than I have in years.
Right now I'm looking at the calendar and realizing....if I'm making holiday gifts it is already mid-November. *cue mild panic*
Holidays -
1. Nephew Hats - I made beanies for myself and dad this fall. Little nephews saw a photo of Poppy wearing the new hat, and want one too. There are 3 kids. This is a simple make I just need to get started.
2. Mom Tapestry Doily - has been in my to-make pile for years. This is the harder one. I really should get started! *slightly less-mild panic*
3. MIL Dishcloths - Her main present is a kitchen item, so I'll make some dishcloths to add in.
Long Term WIPS - I have two lingering projects that I want to work on after holiday crafting. This year I did a "craft spring cleaning" and I frogged or finished everything else in the works-in-progress pile but these.
A. Pansy Doily - this is about 80% complete and I haven't touched it in over a year. Yikes.
B. Monster Hunter C2C Afghan - this partially isn't my fault. I finished the main graph-ghan in spring 2017, and then my husband waffled on borders, and if he wanted it backed, etc, until I stuffed it in a closet. Every once in a while it came out again to be discussed. I got him to make a commitment to a border recently. I'm NOT going to back it.
Overall I will probably check in once or twice a week.
Other than crochet, I have african violets and I started getting more into growing herbs this year. I have a chihuahua mix dog with a lot of personality. She will likely make cameos in progress pics.
