Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Ugh, that sounds like just about every winter in the first 9 years of my life, when we still lived in Transylvania. *offers sympathies* How heroic of you to still having done some meeces and a pumpkin! Go you!

How awful :( well done getting some meece and a pumpkin done amidst all that!

Oh, that sounds SO uncomfortable, ugh. :(

ACK THE RAIN. Hopefully the wood dries off swiftly and doesn't go mouldy? (I don't know how much of a concern this could be for you.)

Yay for making progress!

I finished the sealing ship page and started on the red helicopter one. Tomorrow, if there's enough natural light, I'll take a photo of the finished page.

For the moment, yes, as I had definite designs for the individual pages so far. That's going to change, soon, though. *sigh*

As long as I can come up with anything that actually works...

Well done!

It is indeed a relief.

I called them 'penny patch' blocks, but they're really 'postage stamp' blocks, because I can never remember the proper name for it:

Two more blocks sewn together this morning, from the already-sewn-together rows

Ooh that looks cool!

Thanks! It's a scrappy postage stamp quilt, made up of odds and sods of fabric from my collection, so very random and colourful.

Luckily, I had the strips already cut and stored away; just need to sew them into blocks, which is pretty easy - "five strips, four seams" make a 'block' of 5x5, which I can then add to the piles of blocks and sew into a whole quilt when I have the time.

I'm just making time for it now, before I forget and get distracted onto something else. (So many distractions, so little time!)

oh, nice!

Thank you!

They are very pretty. Do they have a purpose or are they purely there to please?
Friday, November 18th, 2022 02:25 am (UTC)
This quilt is being made 'just because'. It's a scrap quilt to try to 'use up' the excess fabric strips that I've been collecting over a dozen years of quilting. I've come to realise just how much fabric I have, and that I really do need to start using it up...
Friday, November 18th, 2022 05:28 pm (UTC)
Oh, I see. It sounds like my Christmas cards and small felt ornaments: all done for using up remaining stuff.

I've had absolutely no focus today but I managed to get a few rows done!

Every little bit counts.

Even a couple of rows is good! *\o/*
