Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Wow, you really don't slow down for a minute!

Isn't it odd that no matter how many supplies we have, we always lack that particular one we'd need for the next project?

Hope you get a minute to catch your breath ♥

Well done on getting things sorted, hopefully you'll get the lights done soon. The bouncy spiders sound fun. Enjoy yourself with them - always the way that we don't have everything that we need.

The front cover of the transportation-themed quiet book. Which I have unexpectedly finished this morning:

I'm mostly pleased with the outcome. What do you think?

I'm back to work on the scarf, and actually I should check how long it is because I might be getting close to finished!
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 01:30 am (UTC)
Go you! How long are you aiming for?

Sounds like you're doing well and the scarf won't take too long to be done.

Isn't it a nice feeling? Getting close to finishing it, I mean.

I have started knitting myself a hat. (The weather here has been unseasonably mild but also quite wet, so I’ve been wearing my raincoat a lot because it’s light to carry during the day but a much needed layer in the early mornings or evenings when I’m on my way to work/heading home from work depending on my shift. I live by the river so I often wish I had a hat on my walk. The raincoat is green, and because I don’t normally wear it when it’s cold enough to need a hat, I don’t have a green hat - my other woolen hats are red or purple so clash quite a bit.) It’s nice chunky wool, and I’m making it from a pattern I’ve knitted twice before so it’s been knitting up quickly. Except - disaster! - I’ve been knitting it in the round - magic loop on circular needles - the needle bit popped out of the cable mid row! I transferred them to a spare set to keep the hat safe in the meantime, but the needles I were using are a favourite pair, so now I need to get superglue and repair them. :(

Tis a small set back, but I am filled with disproportionate woe about it. I would have finished the hat this evening otherwise!

Darnit. At least you spotted it before you finished.
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 06:16 am (UTC)
What a shame you had to repair the needles but sounds like the hat is progressing well. Hopefully you'll get them done today.
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 07:43 am (UTC)
Oh no! I hope fixing the needle isn't troublesome.
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 07:45 pm (UTC)
It is so annoying when something like that happens near the end of a project. Good luck with repairing the needle!

I did get the stencil cut and placement on the shield sorted. I did wrap almost all of my xmas presents (did early shopping with family this year for once) and made a registration on the house-sitters website looking for a house and kitty sitter for a week in December. Starting to move all untouchable things into spare room which will be shut off and move things like dvds into other room where they can be easily accessed. My sis's hubby is staying soon for his next brain surgery so I want to have everything organised before they come. Fingers crossed sitter can be found.

Well done on your progress on the shield and I'm impressed by all of your preparations for later in the year. Hope things go well for your sis's hubby.

I'm going to own up to catching up with a friend just after work and going for a spot of dinner - I wasn't home really late (9pm) but my back was playing up and so I took some painkillers and unintentionally fell asleep! So no progress but a lovely evening catching up on news *it's been quite a few months due to illness, other commitments etc etc - but we're going to try to make it more regular again - we literally work about 3 mins from each other so it shouldn't take so long for us to catch up.*
