Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

That must have been a tough task. Go you!

Well done - it's great that you were finally able to get that last bead on - frustrating battle along the way but worth it in the end.

I was stitching on tiny little dots for an hour or so. Of the almost 80 required only 23 are left. I hope to finish that part tomorrow, before turning my attention to the joys of Velcro work. [/sarcasm]

So there I was, working on my double-knitting project. I had the setup rows done, and it was time to start the chart. I'm using the dragon only from this chart. Something made me count my stitches before I started the chart, and I found out I had 19 stitches between the border stitches, not 20. ARGH.

If this was not double-knitting I would have snuck in an increase somewhere, but wasn't sure what to do. This was supposed to be a Nerdopolis project, and I'm very slow at double-knitting. I decided to say frak it, I'm not starting over, I'll do something else.

"Something else" turned out to be Small Eastern Dragon which I bought earlier this year for a different Nerdopolis challenge but ended up not doing. I started this today and I'd love to know the designer's definition of "small". I am up to the first bend in the body and the tail is a whopping 17.5"(44.45 cm) long! This dragon is probably going to be HUGE. Hopefully I finish it in time.

I did figure out how to do a thumbnail for my YouTube videos, and am slowly uploading my streams to YouTube. Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtJ7-8OZDNnXxRPi3zrHCTg

Yeah, I don't have a pretty URL yet, but supposedly that is coming soon. YouTube is rolling out a new feature called "handles" which you can use in your channel's URL. Looking forward to it so I don't have gibberish I need to keep copying and pasting.

Sorry to hear of the frustration with your knitting project. Good luck with your dragon - it looks exciting - but huge from your description of the bit you've managed to do so far.

I am always sad about unpretty URLs so I feel your pain.

That Eastern Dragon is amazing! Alas that I do not crochet.

I didn't do anything last night because I was too tired but I did get some exciting news that a friend is unexpectedly expecting - I have until round about the end of January so will have to go and have a rummage to see if I have another nice cross-stitch that would suit the occasion. I love actually having someone to give some of the results of my endeavours to.

A picture of the blue silk kirtle with buttonholes finished and buttons on! it's an overdress so it has short sleeves to show off the dress underneath. I love the colour so much! Silver belt and circlet with silver roses to go with.

That is gorgeous! I have immense respect for people who can sew.
